My dogs love these, but they are very small. I use pizzle sticks as a high value treat and to keep my dogs occupied when needed. These aren’t big enough to last more than a minute.

To be honest, I buy/bought these to give too my dogs (both shih tzu), so they’ll calm down and stop barking when I get home from work… the last time I gave them these though, my male started gasping for air, stumbling around frantically, all while making a muffled whimpering noise! I panicked, not knowing what to do, too upset to make a definitive decision too get into the car and go to an emergency veterinary clinic or too try to get it out myself… as he struggled and panicked more violently, I just lodged several fingers down his throat, held him upside down and started beating his back, without thought, and thank goodness, this ‘treat’ became un-lodged from his lower throat area (I could feel it externally)! I suppose he had a partial blockage, as he was able to make a faint whining noises, or I probably would not have been able to successfully dislodging this thing! I wanted them to stop barking, but not for good lol! I knew these things came with this risk, but I didn’t think it would happen to one of my dogs because they’ve been eating the full sized ones for years, but it did! My advice is… if you have a dog that gets overly excited about eating these (and maybe even gulps these down to steal your other pup’s bully piece) I would ONLY get the full sized ones! Needless to say, I personally will only give a full sized bully sticks (throwing it when it shortens) henceforth, or none at all! I only got the pieces, so I could give it to them in small ‘daily’ doses, but it proved to be a big mistake! These things are just the right size for smaller dogs to chock on!

made my dog throw. was definitely this product as nothing else in her diet or routine changed and it happened twice. She's never had a problem with any other bully sticks in the past and they are her favorite treat. Will toss the 2 bags I purchased, and recommend avoiding!
