MY golden retriever is currently in the hospital after eating one of these - it’s in about 75-100 shards in her stomach. These bones splinter. Do not purchase!!!!

Not safe at all

Only safe if you have a very gentle chewer. A moderate chewer >60lb or any aggressive chewer >20lb I would definitely not recommend this. Very unsafe, breaks into extremely sharp shards. Highly do not recommend this product and honestly disappointed it's even on Petco's shelves.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Terrible. Chewed into large sharp splinters immediately--luckily my dog did not swallow much before I took it away and had no trouble passing the pieces she did eat, but it was a stressful 24 hours.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 5 of 5 Questions

Are these bones cooked?

  1. To shine degree yes. We use these for our smaller dogs. Not suitable for power chewers.

What weight category are these ribs safe for?

  1. Hi Annie2256, We don’t classify chews by weight category, however these are considered an aggressive chew. Supervise pet while chewing. Remove any small, broken or splintering pieces to minimize the risk of choking or gastrointestinal blockage. Thanks,

Are these considered cooked bones?

  1. Yes, I would say they are cooked. They aren’t like ribs we buy for ourselves. The bone is much larger and covered with seasoning and some thin, dried skin/meat that is crispy and the dog loves to chew off.

Are these bones real messy? Does it leave your floors a mess or is it more an outside dog treat/chew?

  1. Yes

So this might be a dumb question but are these bones edible or should they be thrown out when the meat is consumed?

  1. My dog would continue to eat it all over time but I usually don't let her chew it too long for the sake of her teeth.
