How are these processed? Is the hair stripped off with chemicals like lye, or is it baked off naturally?

Would you recommend this for a puppy ( I have a newborn - 8 weeks) but she's chewing everything!

How big (or small) are they? I have a 110lb Great Dane so I’m not sure if these are big enough for her or small like the cow hooves?
- I have 90 lb pointer .. he loves them .. they keep him out of mischief .. MUCH safer than hooves because they are softer .. i highly recommend them .. also Good Lovin brand is made in USA .. my dog is 5 and I've never had a problem
