Lay down the harness unbuckled. Put left and right paw on the leg hole and pull up. Snap the buckle and adjust the size by using the rubber adjuster on the side.
Please take off the harness when not in use. Please keep the dog close and make sure the harness is snug when pulled.

Hi, <br /><br />Thank you for your feedback!<br /><br />The notice on the packaging is for the Proposition 65 requirement by the State of California for products that contain even 1 of the 900 chemicals and compounds on the list. For Gooby specifically, our products are free from those chemicals, except that there might be a chance that DEHP is present in our rubber logos, hence the need for the label as required by law. This particular chemical is commonly used in plastic materials, including PVC pipes, tablecloths, floor tiles, etc, as well many other pet-related products.<br /><br />Shower curtains, furniture, and automobile upholstery, garden hoses, floor tiles, and coverings on wires and cables.<br />Rainwear and shoes.<br />Lunchboxes, binders, and backpacks.<br />Plastic food packaging materials.<br />Medical devices and equipment, including some types of blood and intravenous solution bags, tubing for dialysis, feeding tubes, oxygen masks, and surgical gloves.<br /><br />The percentage in our logo is very low and is not even more than 0.1% which is an acceptable amount allowed by federal law and therefore it was allowed to be in the market.<br /><br />For Gooby, specifically, it can only be found in our logo and not on other parts of the Gooby Harness. <br /><br />If you're concerned about DEHP, we do have a Gooby harness that doesn't have our rubber logo and that would be theLite Gear Z harness.<br /><br />For more information, please reach out to Gooby Customer Service at hello@goobypet.com!

She escaped
The harness is not overly bulky and seemingly fit great, up until she got so terrified by me speaking with a neighbor that she squirmed her way out and sprinted back home. The extra small couldn't reach across to buckle so she was wearing size small. She's a 20lb mini Schnauzer + 6% standard Schnauzer (according to Wisdom Panel) mix. I guess this brand of harness just isn't for her.

Very good quality
I’m buying this harness for a second time. My dog has used this daily since she was 3 years old. She’ll be 9 in a month and it needs replacing. It has lasted really well. It’s not escape proof (my son’s pug managed it a few times) but darn close. My dog doesn’t try to get out anymore but she likes it so I’m replacing it.

They never deliver it.
I keep getting emails asking for a review. I wouldn't know how it works. I've ordered it twice months apart and Petco always cancels the order. They need to keep better track of their inventory. Always says in stock, then cancels because it's not available. They say they'll contact me but never do.

Just ok, not small enough
This did not come any smaller, and starts with a girth size of 15". My dog has a 14" girth so I thought it might work. Although I adjusted it as tight as possible, that one inch difference means she can get at least one leg out of it. So don't get if your dog is smaller than the X Small.

Rips fur out!!!
The harness is ripping my dog's hair out. If you have a dog with long fur, the rings where the adjustable straps attach will be wrapped in fur!! Returning!

Is the buckle adjustable? It’s difficult to see how to adjust the harness to fit properly in the dog.
Is this Harness a step in harness? Once you have adjusted the harness to fit your dog, can you then just lay it on the ground and have your dog step in, bring up the sides and attach the the sides and and then the leash and you are good to go.???

Why are the D rings made out of plastic and not metal?
- I have no idea why, but I use this harness for my 15lb min pin who sees a squirrel or rabbit and takes off like a bat out of hell (LOL) and they have held up fine. The harness does tighten on her when she pulls and she has never escaped from it.

Can't find care instructions anywhere. Can I throw it in the washer and dryer or does it have to be hand washed and hung up to dry?
- Website says it can be machine washed in cold water and air dried. Fashion vests may be tumble dried, if desired.

I’d this a good harness for a Boston terrier who gets out of the Ruffwear harness and who’s aggressive when seeing other dogs?
Does anyone have a concern where it says "Cancer & Reproductive Harm" under the description details? Do you know if it is just specific to this type/brand of harness? I really liked this one but now not so sure.

What leash fits this harness? The leash I have which is not a Gooby leash will not Fit into both of the rings. What leash does Gooby sell that will fit into the D rings for a size small. Thanks
- A standard leash I have found fits just fine. Usually a 6ft length one that is 1 inches thick w a standard clip works best.

Would an xsmall fit a 3lb shihpoo?
- No. My dog is 6.5 lbs and I wish it was a little more fitted. It is a good harness but probably would be too big for a 3 lb dog

Will this work for my chewing & escape artist Jack Russell Terrier?
- Hi, If the sizing is correct, it would definitely your dog from getting out of the harness when backing out. Please make sure there is no space around the back of the harness when fully pulled. Unfortunately, the harness is not chew proof so we recommend only wearing the harness during the walk and not leaving it on when not in use. Thank you
