[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very good standard fish tank, the led lights worked very well and it isn’t loud at all! fits perfectly on the desk as the name states! the filter is definitely hidden and the water stays pretty clean with regular cleaning!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this 5-gallon Gofish desktop aquarium kit with a cycle light and a hidden filtration kit. It is a good starter set for my children to own. I like that it is easy to set up, the hidden filtration system, and LED lighting. I also like the compact size, which fits perfectly on a desk or table, making it an excellent addition to any decor. It is also low-maintenance and has a sleek appearance. Light creates a beautiful environment, and filtration ensures the water is clear. It's a fantastic way for my kids to learn about responsibility and fish life. The only downside is the filter pump is somewhat noisy, and the lid is a little flimsy, but that does not deter me from liking it. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a simple and easy tank to maintain.

Not good for betta fish. Betta fish need to come up for air. And so these tall tanks while looking nice, aren't exactly ideal for them. I'm returning mine that I got online. Sad because I actually really liked it. I'd recommend this but not for a betta fish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this GloFish aquarium in exchange for my review here. I’ve been an aquarium hobbyist for 40 years so I’m not new to setting up tanks and fish-keeping. I was excited to set up this GloFish tank as I’m somewhat familiar with this brand of fish but had never kept them myself and I’m intrigued by how the special spectrum of lighting affects how we see their body color. I learned while researching the brand that GloFish brand fish are not injected with color as other similar fish are. I was appalled at the injection practice ever since it became popular and I always refused to buy or sell them. GloFish are bred to be that color which is not harmful or more stressful to them than regular fish breeding. The fish are beautiful but I did not buy any for this tank as I prefer more natural fish. I used a black sand for the substrate called Black Diamond Blasting sand. It’s been great. I added a few live plants and will get more soon. I wanted to keep it empty for photos first. I cycled my tank with aquarium water from my old, well-established and very healthy tank. I let it run for a month with no chemical spikes and added 4 fish that will be happy living here until I find a few more of each type, then they are going into my larger community tank. I have 2 Green Lantern Platys and 2 Black Velvet Mollies. This is too many for a 5 gallon, but this is a temporary home for them until I introduce them into my larger tank. This is a quarantine in essence to make sure my other fish don’t get a pet store disease from these fish. The specialized lighting on this tank is great. It shows off the blue-green shine on my fish. I pictured two of the lighting modes: daytime and nighttime. I did not picture the blacklight because my fish are not black light reactive. My only complaint is that the heater can’t maintain the correct temperature if it is placed in the filter box as advertised. That only works if the water flow is set to high; if it is low, there is not enough flow and the tank water is 5° cooler than the filter box water. Setting it higher still doesn’t work and overheats the water in the back causing other biological issues. Overall, this was easy to set up, looks great, and seems well made! Please do lots of research on the proper water biology and needs for the fish you’d like. This small size will work as a permanent home for very few fish.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the curved glass instead of having seams with silicone blocking your view. The thick glass lid is a plus too. I also like the filter is hidden in the back and there's enough room to hide the heater. I'm not a fan of the filter cartridge so I replaced it with a foam sponge. I'm also not a fan of the light. I get that it's meant for glo fish but it's just way too blue for me and I wish there was a bright white setting so I switched that out with another light I had.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The aquarium is perfect for kids who want to be first time fish owners. It is perfect size, easy to set up and clean. The lights give this aquarium an extra pop. My daughter loves waking up each morning and feeding her new fish.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this GloFish tank, and so does my new Beta. I like that all the filters are hidden in the back of the tank out of view. My beta was having issues with the flow of the water, even with it on the lowest setting. I found a small filter that I placed over the water opening. It has made it much better for him to swim around. Water quality has remained crystal clear. The black light is beautiful at night. I did buy GloFish decorations to go with the tank but then decided against putting them as the edges seemed rough. I have not completely cleaned the tank yet, other than doing water changes, so we will see how that goes. All in all, it's a beautiful, well-made tank. My fish seems very happy.
