Is it waterproof
- yes. I mean I don't submerge it. It sits on the ledge of my tank and it has accidently fall off into the water and didn't burn out

I have a 10 gallon tank- will this cover the majority of the width?
- This light is 10" long so it will cover half the length of the tank, but it is extremely bright and one is all that is needed.

How many do I have to purchase for a 29 gallon
- One of these lights is adequate (but not overly bright) for my basic 10 gallon. I would definitely purchase two for a 29 gallon otherwise it will be quite dim, and honestly I don’t think three would be overkill.

I've had a run if bad luck with lights due to air stones. Will this light be affected by the water that hits it?
- No it has a protective casing on it is meant to go on the inside of the tank. Mine has survived splashing frogs for nearly a year now. My only complaint was that it's not very good if you have plants because it is not bright enough. Other than that it's a good light.

I have a half moon shaped tank . I’m guessing these can only be attached to a square or rectangle tank ?
- no you can attach it to the the side that is straight

Does it have a timer? Does it automatically change from day time to night time modes?
- No built-in timer. Any external timer you add can only switch it on or off. It just remembers the last mode used.
