Panda had moderately full anal glands he was expressed by vet a month ago he is now scared of going to see vet because he has been expressed twice my vet suggested we trial glandex and if this does not work express him monthly or surgical removal of the glands both are invasive which will mean trauma to him he also scratches a lot when he needs doing how quickly will the glandex work and are there any other options that I can do he is on grain free kangaroo diet and has food allergies
Willow has been having issues with her anal glands. She is always licking the area, sometimes leaks and smells really fishy. We have tried homemade pumpkin and oat treats to help bulk her stool, but is there something else we can do to help her?
Do you have a recommended dental chew bite brand for dogs? For fresh breath
Roxie has been licking her bottom parts for a very long while now. She can be lying down and all of a sudden she’ll pop up and start licking. She’s been doing this for a few months now. At first I thought it was her anal glands because she would secrete an oily liquid and it would smell horrible, but It stopped. Then she started licking her lady part constantly. Just a few moments ago she started licking her anus and the horrible smell is back. She’s been on Glandex chews for about a month now.
What can i give for my dog to naturally express his anal glands? Hes been leaking for about 2 months now and his stool is firm. Ive tried psyllium husks, silica and pumpkin.
Dahlia licks her feet a pitbull age 8. Not fixed due to heart mumur. What can I safely clean them with and keep her from licking. DermaPaws? So many oils. Dog wipes?
Good morning, My Chihuahua/Min-pin mix (Schlitzy) has been dragging his rear frequently for about 2-3 weeks. A week ago we had his anal glands expressed and the scooting cont'd. I bought an OTC fenbendazole dewormer, a 3 day course, last dose yesterday, yet the scooting is the same! He eats regularly, behaves regularly (other than scooting) and has stools that are solid. They are more more tan/orange-ish than brown and have had noticeable mucous strands. No vomit or diahrea. What else can I do?
My dog has swollen, red annal glands and he is licking it a lot and also tooting quite a bit. What can I do to help him feel better?
How to help/clean an anal gland rupture
Scoots butt on ground - not often. Deworming again with Pancur. Vet took care of anal gland. Should I change diet or consult local Vet again? Stools are normal.
My GS mix 2+yrs old has issues expressing her glands. We feed Taste of the Wild. Fed twice/day. When she was a puppy we added pumpkin to firm up her poo and it helped, about a Tbsp give or take. In last 6 months she has been having issues w/anal glands & we have taken her twice for expression at vet & I think she is needing it again. We give baby carrots, 2-3 daily as treats. I want to resolve this vs buying something to add to her food, any suggestions? Is she getting too much fiber?
Hi! My dog has been scooting her bottom lately due to her anal glands. She had them expressed and since stopped. However the crevice around her vulva is a bit red and looks irritated, what can I do to help this? I already washed the area well and dried it and put a small amount of hydrogen peroxide on while washing, but would like to know if there are any creams or anything I can do to help it heal? Thanks in advance!
