The Giant White Gourami is very popular due to their unusual body shape and peaceful temperament. They have a square shaped, thin, compressed body and are characterized by two long thread-like pelvic fins. Males have a pointed dorsal fin while females have a more rounded dorsal fin. This gourami has a much larger adult size compared to other Gourami species and will need substantial swimming space. Gouramis are a great recommendation for beginner hobbyists due to their hardiness and ease in care. They prefer planted aquariums and peaceful tank mates. The Giant White Gourami is an omnivore that requires foods that are meat and algae based.

A bacteria booster may also help develop a new aquarium for your new fish. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried, and frozen food, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller, unfiltered aquariums.
