A well-balanced gerbil diet consists of high-quality gerbil food and limited amounts of vegetables and fruits. Vegetables and fruits not eaten within 24 hours should be discarded. A limited amount of vegetables and fruits can be given daily but should not exceed 10% of their total diet.
Do not feed chocolate, caffeine or alcohol as these can cause serious medical conditions. Avoid sugar and high-fat treats.

What age do gerbils stop reproducing?
I am setting up a new habitat for my 2 sibling gerbils. I want it to be as natural of a habitat as their ancestors in the wild live in. Which substrate would you recommend that would be as natural as they would receive in their desert environment?
Hi, I have two gerbils and today I noticed that one has a brown sore on his nose. He didn't have anymore and his fur is very greasy. I don't believe they are fighting since they have lived together for 4 months without incident. I am very worried.
Ive had my gerbils for about two weeks and they are siblings but I see them fight often and I can't tell if its just play fighting or actual fighting, they dont squeak.
I accidentally adopted a breeding pair of gerbils (I was told they were both females.) The female is pregnant. I want to seperate them and pair them with same sex gerbils to prevent more litters. What is the best method?
Hello, i believe a child has been too rough with my gerbil. He will not move anything but his head and front feet and will not open his eyes. His breaths are short and quick. He is 2yo and has never had health issues. I dont know what to do as no vet in my area will be open until monday.
We have a male gerbil who has a bald patch appear overnight. His coat is glossy and his eyes are bright and shiney overall he looks really well. He has a varied diet including a vitamin block. What could the possible cause be? Thanks
I got supposedly 2 female gerbils at a pet store around 5 months ago... they humped each other quite a bit, but I thought one was just trying to be the dominant one... but now someone realized that one gerbil is getting visibly bigger. I can’t send photos because the camera isn’t working right now, but is there anyway I can check if she’s pregant without bothering her? This happened before with my guinea pigs.
I think my gerbil is pregant. She’s really massive. We bought two gerbils thinking hey were both girls. But I’m not sure if one is a boy now.. this happened with our guinea pigs. I’m not sure if she’s pregnant but she really does look like it. If she is pregnant is there a way to help prepare her? Or get ready?
My gerbil has a hard lump on his scent gland it is black with normal color skin around it. He is acting normal and doesn't seem to be in any pain. Any ideahs what it could be and how to help him? (He also has seizures if that is to help any)
I have a two pet gerbils however one of them always has his eyes squinted shut and honestly he looks high like 24/7. The thing is we dont have any drugs nor feed them any drugs to make him act like this would if you can give me an answer it would be greatly appreciated
