How to create a comfortable habitat for you pets: Galapagos Golden Sphagnum Moss is one of the most versatile beddings ever! Use sphagnum moss as an ideal snake bedding, a humidifier for any terrarium environment, an incubation medium, or a substrate for carnivorous or live plants. This soft and fluffy golden moss holds 20 times its dry weight in moisture and naturally repels odors. Completing your tropical or wetland habitat with a thin layer of golden sphagnum moss will help maintain the humidity of the tank as well as make it easier to clean up and maintain your terrarium. I am setting up a new habitat for my 2 sibling gerbils. I want it to be as natural of a habitat as their ancestors in the wild live in. Which substrate would you recommend that would be as natural as they would receive in their desert environment?
Currently I am using calcium sand. It doesn’t seem to be effecting Ash at all. Should I continue to use the sand or get something else such as eco earth?

first of all, thanks for your advice with my african dwarf frogs! after the aquarium salt bath they are doing great and even look more vibrant now! i was wanting to know what substrate would be best in the tank. would sand be okay or would they eat that like the gravel? i have a heavily planted aquarium and need something to keep the plants in place but i dont want my frogs to eat it and have something happen to them. i find conflicting information when i research it online. thanks!
Hi there. So I am looking into getting a heat dome for my crested gecko. I know they don’t have to have a heat lam but I want him to have a UVB bulb Because it’s good for them. But I am not quite sure that type to get. Any suggestions? I was looking at petco’s tropical combo pack. He lives in a 10 g. With live plant. (I will upgrade when he is bigger) also do you know an age on him? I got him 3 months ago from petsmart. I could tell he was a male a week after I got him. (Pic from yesterday)
Hello. So right now for my baby crested gecko tank set up I have a 10 gallon with live plants and some wood. (First time reptile owner) I have had this problem before. There are these VERY small little silver bugs and they are in the dirt and also on the wood. I didn’t make this bio active. I don’t think they are on the plants but there is a lot. I am using the dirt bricks and last time this happened I cleaned out his tank but they are back. They are not on my crestie. Are these ok? Suggestions?
I just bought some loose coconut fiber bedding. They used to just have dirt. After the change he began to try to escape to the female toad's habitat and hasnt calmed down. He is also getting the fiber grounds in his water bowl. Is there anything I can do to calm him down and also keep his bowl clean? Our female adapted just fine and doesnt get any in her bowl. I think its because he keeps jumping around and making a mess.
