I bought a Furminator for short haired dogs after my girl's bath earlier this week. She's starting to shed due to the change in weather. Though, I've noticed some complications with her fur. The hair on her lower back and shoulders comes out easily, which is great! However, the hair on her mid back is more coarse/rough and takes more effort to comb. Is there something wrong? Do I need a specific shampoo to make it softer? What should I do? Pics: 1. Her entire back. 2. Soft fur. 3. Rough fur.

She has, what seems like, a double coat of hair now and since I don't have the means to take her to a groomer right now, I want to give her a nice trim since it's getting warmer, and because I want to be able to see any potential bugs that try to go on her. My Buddy had a puppy trim at pet smart. They did a magnificent job, he looked astonishing! Now this was done April 30. The service includes: oxigen infused bath with a tangerine shampoo, blow dry, up to 15 minutes brushing, sanitary trim, nail trim, ear cleaning, anal gland cleaning, scissoring feet, shaving pads, and a bandana at the end. Just fabulous! Is it ok if i take him again sooner than May 30? His eyebrows and beard are super long and he can use a nail trim.
How can I take care of pet's hair. How can I increase them
I have always used a Dog Comb to comb the Winter coat from my dogs - both long and short-haired breeds. Now, there is the Furminator. I tried it, and I find the Dog Comb is better to get the Undercoat combed off the Dog. I find you have to use the Furminator, which is too sharp, to brush them down to the skin, irritating the skin. What is your opinion on combing out Winter Hair on Dogs? (long and short breeds). I used to groom all sorts of breeds of dogs, using a Dog Comb.
