Is this a wild rat or a rat bought from the store? And what type of rat is this
I just bought two female hairless rats from the pet store and I do not know how old they are. Can you help give me an idea? The pet store told me they were a new shipment meaning they are probably only a couple months old. This is important to me because I know that hairless rats don’t live as long as furry rats. The first two images are of Atlas and the other is of Cupid.
What is this lump on my rat? (Update from previous question just with photos) female rat aged 1 and a half
I got two pet rats approx. 3 weeks ago and was told they were both males however yesterday one has given birth to between 10-12 babies. I'm not sure what to do. I've given the mum food and water and extra nourishment. She gave birth in a hanging den and I have had to move the den so it is now resting on the floor of her cage but she is now putting a lot of bedding inside the den and also on top of it and I'm panicking. Please can you advise???
My rat has lost weight but I've done a body check and evry thing seams ok she has been showing sins of stress as the cage is a little small am trying to get a bigger one but not got the money how can I help her calm down and not chew the cage and help put some fat on
My wife and I bought 3 adolescent medium rats from Petco around 2 weeks ago. All three of them had pneumonia and two of them were too sick for the medicine to work properly. Our brave survivor, Frankie, is recovering well and regaining her loving, inquisitive personality by the day. However, our dog opened the bedroom and broke her cage when we went for groceries earlier. She was hiding scared but physically healthy. How can we comfort her as she grieves and restore her safety net and comfort?
My rat Nessie has a big lump near her tail
my rat has fur in feces and they are weirdly shaped (not all, just some, and some feces don't have hair in). both of my rats now are 2 years old. one is slower than before but she still eats and drink. i feed them food blocks, yogurt drops and fruit/veggies
I have a baby rat (about 13-14 days old) he's shivering really bad (he's not cold) and he's acting weird
Hello, I noticed yuki having a very soft bold spot which is bulky, she is a heavy rat (506g) and healthy, except lazy, and I was wondering what could this be because it doesnt feel like a cyst as it's very soft like a fatty tissue but it could be something else, and I am not quiet sure. She became less active and curious, i am very concerned for her health as she just fell off of her hammock, but she is breathing fine and eating fine, drinking and urinating.
Hi! I recently purchased 2 rats from a woman who had an unexpected litter. They are a bit over 4 weeks old at least, and one has been adjusting well to their new environment. The other, however, has randomly bolted out of her hiding spot and erratically ran around the cage until she just froze, then after a minute or two scurried back into her hiding spot. I’m so worried and don’t want her to get sick or something because she’s been so scared. What can I do?
I have a 6 month old rat named Regi. She is particularly small compared to the others, and I was just wondering why. She is a fancy rat, I’ve also realised in the past week she has been growing more outwards than longer. Hope you can tell me what’s going on.
