Are the rats frozen all together in one big clump or frozen in their own bag individually and put into the larger bag?

  1. All together. I was pretty put off when I first started ordering them, but I think that’s just what people have to deal with when buying in bulk.  The only way to get them individually bagged is to buy from the pet store. 3 Times the price, which is not even as Bad as never knowing if or when it’s in stock. Buying in huge nasty frozen clumps is the lesser of the 2 evils for me. Hope this helps.

What is the reason for the major size difference in the small rat? The large mouse is very small, the pup rat is a little bigger, then the small rat is sometimes 3 times larger than the pup rat. Am I the only person with this issue?

  1. I've compared between Petco's brand and online wholesale reptile feeder suppliers and the distinction is that Gourmet Rodent doesn't distinguish between weaned rats (35-49g) and small rats (50-89g). I've switched to Big Cheese Rodents and they come in packs of 20 (weaned) and 15 (small) for their smallest packaging: $33-39. The downside to this is that shipping is $29. The upside is that there is no guessing and more consistency with the quality of the frozen feeders.
