Don't bother

Just received this and out of the box it won't turn on. I checked the batteries - they are all good - and tried every configuration of placing them in the unit just in case. I also tried various lengths of time holding the power button. It simply won't turn on. Now I have to pay to ship it back to travel 45 minutes to the closest store to get my refund.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Won’t leave my cat alone with it

I got this because regular lasers are annoying to hold for long periods and this is soooo much more comfortable to use. My cat sometimes likes to watch the toys/laser move, but not actually chase them which can get annoying for me because if I put the laser down when he's watching he'll meow in protest. This way I can just hold it until he gets bored. I don't feel comfortable setting it down and leaving him alone with it because he immediately became desperate to discover and murder the source of the laser, and will try to gaze deeply right into the mirror of the toy, so I can't exactly allow that. I like it but I probably won't leave my cat alone with it just out of concern for his vision. Also the pattern is predictable and not random at all so it's better not to set it down anyway as your cat may figure this out and get bored.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I have three cats and this laser is too fast for them to play with. I like that it’s wireless but I don’t recommend.

Bolt Laser is a Hit!

Super entertaining, interactive, cats are continually engaged and fascinated. Timer works well with random movements. It does go through batteries so recommend rechargeable ones. Great toy!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great idea, poor implementation

Laser moves too fast and too far away( 20 ft from base), so my cat looses attention when he can’t see it anymore.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Absolutely Amazing

My furry babies love the Premier Pet Bolt Automatic Laser Cat Toy! The automatic mode points the laser in random directions! The manual mode that lets you point the laser wherever you want! You can adjust the mirror at the top of the toy to point the laser in a different direction! It shuts off automatically after 15 minutes! It’s fun to watch them chase the laser and jump to try catch it! It’s the cats meow!

My cat loves the laser pointer but recently my dog will chase her and then they get distracted for a bit. So the idea of turning it on and getting to do other things is nice. I do agree the laser moves too fast that would be my only complaint.

Yes, I recommend this product.

does this have automatic activation or manual activation?

  1. mine has manual activation - fine for when i am home, but the cat will not push the button to activate it himself.

what lazer toy is better. cat dart or cat bolt

  1. The motor burnt out on the FroliCat Dart within the first few months, I would not recommend it. I like it's design better in the fact that you can put it on the floor. Also there is no way to adjust the lasers to make them go up higher. Wish it wasn't so fragile because I like alternating their toys. I love the bolt but I would not put it on the floor just in case they knock it around. I put it out of their reach. Bolt over dart definitely.

can the laser light toys harm my pet's eyes?

  1. Yes! Make sure not to shine it in their eyes, although it's difficult when their running after it really fast. Also, be really careful if you use a laser light with a dog, many of them get addicted to it,it's like crack for dogs. Google laser lights and dogs for more info.
