I bought this product because I looked up ICH medicine that was safe for shrimp. And in fact on the freaking back of the bottle it says not safe for invertebrates .

No, I do not recommend this product.

Killed a bunch of my wee fish

I noticed ich on a couple of newer fish I recently added to my aquarium. I used half of the recommended dosage in my well established 55g aquarium. Within two days, 8 cherry barbs, 3 turquoise rainbowfish, and two loaches (most of which didn't even have ich spots) died. Since then I have done large water changes to get this fish euthanizer out of my water. The deaths have slowed down, but my 8 year old common pleco, who was perfectly happy and healthy prior, is still very lethargic. It may help some people treat ich (presumably if you ignore the instructions on the bottle and introduce at much lower than recommended doses), but I absolutely regret buying this item. It decimated my community tank.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This is my first time using this product and I am blown away in just a short 14 hours after putting it in the tank! We have African Cichlids and have lost over $400 in fish the past 2 months battling some sort of illness. The fish would stop eating, hang out at the top of the tank and then get a film over them with their back fin sinking down. The fish would be vertical and then within a day or 2 pass away. We treated with Melafix and ended up reviving one back that was vertical but he hasnt seemed to fully recover. We then lost another the same way and has another guy who was healthy and fiesty a week ago and then a few days ago stopped eating and yesterday went vertical with the film. When researching this week we determined we more than likely have an outbreak in both tanks of Fluke's (Fish Gill Disease). I ran out of Melafix and went to petsmart last night and planned on getting Melafix but saw they had Fluke's Bactaguard i think it was called. We swear by the Fritz brand ich cure so i asked about the Fritz bactaguard and was told by the fish guy he would recommend that over Melafix as Melafix was a lot harder on the fish. I wasnt fully confident in his answer as he stated well with what we sell i would go for Fritz. I decided while in petsmart to look up Fritz and see what covers Fluke and while the Bactershield seemed like a more wide range herbal help it didnt mention flukes specifically however the Fritz Coppersafe did! I saw petco down the road had it so we went there instead and got the bottle for a fraction of the price of what we would have spend on Bactershield at petsmart due to petco having it cheaper online and pricematching even though cost wasnt a concern at this point. I did research on how to safely use and put it in my small 29 gallon tank that had the fish that was vertical and even going upside down. This morning I came in the room and he not only has the film off of him he is completely in his normal horizontal position and active swimming around the tank! I will recommend to everyone looking for a good treatment!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Every goldfish I get from petco has anchor worms. Is this known to kill them?

    What are the ingredients?

    1. Chelated Copper Sulfate 2.2%

Can i use this to kill a snail Infestation

    1. Copper will kill aquatic snails, among other things.

Will this kill detritus worms and seed shrimp

    1. Not sure about worms, typically PraziPro is better choice for deworming. Copper definitely kills inverts and crustaceans.

    Is it reef safe?

    1. It’s safe for most fish but not invertebrates. Use it to treat freshwater or marine fish only; don’t add it to any aquarium with inverts.

Can you add this and aquarium salt?

Does it treat hole in the head disease?

Will this product kill green alge?

        1. I have a marine quarantine tank that has 1.5 to 2.0 ppm of copper using coppersafe and algae is still growing inside (green, brown, cyano). I wouldn’t push copper past those levels, though.

        Will it kill my anenomies

        1. All copper medications will kill anemones, as well as any other invertebrates in the tank.

Is it safe for corydora catfish. Also is it safe for baby discus   CoppersSafe

        1. My green Cory Catfish are doing fine two days after
