Questions

What is the calorie count per 1/4 lb. serving?

  1. Check with the manufacturer as website or contact Vitalfresh with your specific questions.

does this food have carrageenan?

  1. Thank you for your inquiry about our Vital Grain Free Turkey Recipe. All of our foods are made with the nutritional needs and safety of dogs and cats in mind. We use undegraded carrageenan at low levels in some of our foods to help maintain the form and texture. I hope this helps! ~The Freshpet Consumer Care Team

how much per day would a 110 lb coon hound need

  1. We currently feed our older 23 lb Frenchie one slice (1/4 lb) twice a day (AM and PM). He eats it all immediately and licks the bowl and floor clean. The feeding guidelines listed on the package: a 100 lb pup would be 1.5 - 2 lbs per day (you can add a 1/2 lb for each 25 lbs over 100 lbs, so at 110 lbs you may add a little bit) Our turkey grain free food is packaged in 2 lb rolls. (Some flavors also have a 1 lb, 6 lb or 11 lb roll). So you would be using the entire 2 lb roll in one day, I currently pay $11.99 each so this could get pricey for you. With all of our feeding and allergy issues we love this food. Freshpet is a supportive and service oriented company. During 2020 there were supply issues due to COVID which caused it to be out of stock at Petco. They have resumed production and it is a very popular food so stock may run low at Petco.

can you freeze this

  1. Yes, You are able to and thaws easily.

I have a white west island terrier who is developing brown hair around her mouth what dog food do you recommend

  1. Sometimes dogs with white fur tend to have allergies to grains that can cause excessive tear stains. My main culprit of my white pups fur browning around the mouth was the tap water. Due to minerals in the water it can stain the fur. i switched from tap to filtered or water sold by the gallon and the issue cleared up.
