[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a 1yr Frenchie who isn't too picky about food but I have noticed when I tried her on this she went straight for the food! When cutting into slices and then into cubes I didn't smell a dog food smell like can food. She didn't have an issue eating the food but I did notice she wasn't too much of a fan of it being cold. Her stools have been firm after trying this. This is something I would buy again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dogs LOVED Freshpet Vital!! I was a little worried they wouldn't eat the cranberries or carrots but they actually liked them too. The smell was good and the packaging made it easy to make portions for whatever you need. It being a soft food with the ingredients it has should make it super easy to digest for my pups. I'll definitely be buying more for them!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our little addition just loves this! He did not seem to get an upset stomach after, and he ate the roll pretty quickly. The downside is that for his weight and size, he will eat through a roll really fast.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good and affordable food for dogs. My dog loves this, she ate all of it. Love that it’s made from real ingredients that we all know ourselves. Easy to prep, just take it out of its container and cut in small pieces. Way better alternative than kibble

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Freshpet has become one of my favorite foods to feed my pup. Our pup enjoys the taste and practically begs for it whenever we open the fridge. I can feel good about the ingredients that i can read on the packaging and that is a plus. Our pup's coat is shiny and soft growing beautifully. I would recommend this product to anyone who is wanting to give the best to their pup.

Picky puppy approved — Roscoe cleaned his bowl

brooklynnb30_3701

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My puppy Roscoe is picky. And when I say picky, I mean the kind of picky that stares at his bowl like “you really expect me to eat this?” 😅 So I was honestly shocked when he went straight for this food. The second I opened the Freshpet Vital Puppy roll, Roscoe was right there, tail wagging, no hesitation, no side-eye. He dove right in and cleaned his bowl like it was his job. I love that you can actually see real pieces of chicken, beef, and salmon, it looks like actual food, not mystery mush. The roll is easy to slice and portion, which is perfect for a growing puppy. Since switching, Roscoe has great energy, no tummy issues, and his coat looks soft and healthy. Most importantly… he’s excited at mealtime, which is saying a LOT for him. If your puppy has big opinions about food like mine does, this is definitely worth trying. Roscoe gives it two paws up, and zero complaints, which might be a first

Questions

1 - 6 of 6 Questions

Fresh food that reads FOR ANY AGE can be given to puppies? How long is fresh pet food good for if frozen? And how much should I feed my 9!week old Yorkie under  2 lbs.  Thank you

  1. Hi, our Vital Grain Free Chicken Beef & Salmon Meals are appropriate for all life stages including puppies. While our rolls are made to be served fresh from the fridge, you can feel free to freeze any unused portions upon opening. For any unopened rolls, it is best to keep it in the refrigerator until the sell by date stamped on the package. A puppy of about 2 lbs. will require approximately ¼ lb. (4 oz.) daily as a base diet. Feed daily recommendation in 3 to 4 servings per day depending on the age of your puppy. If you have any other questions about our food, please give us a call at 1.866.789.3737, Mon-Fri 8am-9pm ET and Sat & Sun 9am-1pm ET. Kindly reference case number 424215. Thank you. - Jillian

9 week chihuahua - she weighs 1.5lbs How much do I feed her?

  1. Hello! Our feeding guidelines start at 5 lbs. A 2- 3 lb dog’s food requirement is approximately ¼ lb (4 oz.) daily as a base diet. Feed daily recommendation in two servings. The food quantity can be increased or decreased depending on the dog’s condition, age and activity level. If your pet requires more food increase daily food by ½ -1 ounce. As always, Freshpet recommends to work with your veterinarian for more specific needs.

My shitzu is 4 months, he's weight 6 pounds, i need to know how much should i feed him.

  1. I would check with your Vet really but as a puppy tjey need more calories and frequency so perhaps a half cup (1/2) 4 times a day and more as they grow. But really best to ask a Vet or some foods tell you on tjeir lanels -since each food is different. Enjoy your baby!

I have an 8 lb., 4 month old puppy. According to the package serving chart, he should get 1-1 3/4 lbs. per day. This seems like a lot for a dog as small as he is. Other foods don't recommend near this much. Please advise me on how much I should feed him.

  1. My dog is 13 pounds and I’m supposed to give him a quarter cup in the morning and a quarter cup in the afternoon. A cheetah little on that, but nowhere near what you are considering. If you don’t have a vet to call and ask, call any vets office to see if someone will give you some information to confirm what I’m saying.

Is grain=free dogfood really ok? Is it cancer causing like I heard someone mention?

What is the refrigerated shelf life unopened? Don't want to run to the store every week, would like to stock up for a month.

    1. If it’s unopened and you keep it in the fridge it’ll be fine until it’s expiration date which is written on the package. Once opened it’s good for a week but you can make it last longer by freezing it.
