My 14-year-old yorkie poo has been the pickiest eater ever. I have tried so many different things. We tried raw food we did Farmer's dog we for years have cooked chicken breast cut it up and served it to her that way plus ground beef pork loin. Anything to get her to eat she would eat these things very infrequently would she eat dry kibble. In the last few years she's seems to have allergy issues primarily with chewing and licking her paws. I went to a new vet to see if there was anything we could do, and for the first time ever someone told me that Ziva could be in fact most likely is, allergic to chicken, of all things. That really limited the diet. I found this Vital Beef and Bison recipe online. It's specifically states that there is no chicken the food. I've never seen Ziva take to a dog food like this. She absolutely loves it. She is picky so I will come back and offer a update in a few months but for the first week she has been incredibly happy with the food. It's too early to tell if this will also clear up the allergies but in the meantime she's eating! No

I have 2 dogs, 1 is a VERY picky eater. He tries to beg for people food and will starve himself all day if we try to give him dog food. He refuses to eat plain dry kibble. We tried everything, canned food, toppers.. he would starve himself until the end of the day where he finally eats. He also has a sensitive diet and skin and is allergic to chicken. He LOVES this stuff scarfs it down immediately and will even eat it mixed with dry dog food.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought thia for my 11 year old Yellow Lab. He's been having some problems with food, vomiting, nausea and wouldn't eat his regular food. We bought this, he loves it but he is still having vomiting. He's had bloodwork, stomach and chest exrays, and nothing shows up. Going to try mixing the foods together and see what happens.

Great for food sensitive dogs

In the past, my five year old dog had bouts of colitis because he has a food sensitivity to poultry. It took a lot of trial and error with various foods and brands to figure that out. We have tried dehydrated, raw, canned, kibble, you name it. This is the ONLY food we can give to him with no negative effects. The first time we gave it to him he immediately was able to digest it and have a normal stool. Nothing else has agreed or appealed to him like this has. Once in a great while I mix it with plain white rice and he digests that just fine. All in all, this food is a life saver and I am so grateful that he not only tolerates it but enjoys it very much!

Our dog stopped eating his dry dog food so we had to go searching for new dog food. Our dog can not eat anything that has any kind of chicken, chicken flavor. We found Fresh Pet Beef with Bison and no grain. He lives it.

Questions

1 - 8 of 8 Questions
Sort by: Newest Answers

Does this product get delivered in a timely manner (before spoiling) if you choose same day delivery?

  1. It was delivered the same day I ordered it.

How many calories are in Fresh Pet Select, Beef and Bison? I cannot find this information on the package or my search. Thank you!

  1. Stay away from Fresh Pet Select. It's made in China. They had many recalls for the Select. Get Fresh Pet Vital. I don't have the roll in front of me because I don't buy this anymore but the Vital calories are on the package that reads kilo/cal. You can always call the company. I am now using Katherine Heigl Superfood that you buy on line. You should go on line and read about her Superfood for dogs. My dog loves it.

Why can't you freeze Fresh Pet Grain Free Beef and Bison rolls? PetCo in my town only has one size. We have 3 dogs. The big roll was fine & could be eaten in a week, but our foster has gone to his forever home & our other 2 dogs can't eat a whole roll in

  1. You can, I have no issues freezing it.  I feed this as topper with kibble so no way can use it all in 7 days as they say.  I think they say don’t freeze just to make you purchase more, we can freeze our food why not dog food?

what is portion size for 85 pound dog

  1. 1 1/4 to 1 2/3 lbs per day, so one 5 lb log of food will last about 4 days if only feeding this.

Does anyone find this Vital Beef and Bison recipe drier, more crumbly than the Fresh Pet Select? I just want to know if this is normal for the product. Thanks.

  1. Yes but suppose to be like that, different ingredients, my dog likes much more.  Can’t use the other beef one they have because has chicken which my girl is allergic to.  This one so much better and dog loves!

Why is it impossible to find Fresh Pet Grain Free Beef and Bison rolls

  1. I have found at pet stores including Petsmart and Pet o with no issues

Is this dog food approved for large breed puppies?

How long is unopened Vital good for in the fridge?

    1. Others answered after opening which wasn’t your question, there is expiration date for unopened packages.  I freeze and no issues whatsoever to last a week longer.  Not recommend because they want you to buy more!
