Allergy relief

Patty

Bought this after many other options with little to no relief. Difficult to see our baby suffer with itchy skin and feet. Difficult to find a non chicken formula that worked until now. Hope they keep this product in our local Pet Smart as it is not easy to find this recipe. Love how easy and clean it is to feed as well. Thank you Fresh Pet!

I started giving my dog Farmers Pet. But the cost was out of my budget. I decided to try Fresh Pet. My Monty loves it. As an added bonus, I can buy it in the grocery store. So there’s no waiting (or thawing) to feed. It’s less expensive and his poops seem to like it too. 🐶

The Food is great for my Frenchie, nice solid stool, no smelly farts. However, you can not open the bag and leave it in the fridge for more than a week, it will go bad. Also when you buy it, check for freshness since within 7 days it goes bad, you have to check the food before you serve it to your dog. Some store leave a bag in their fridge pass the seven days and you can see the discoloration of the food when it's gone bad. Any off smell or slight discoloration do NOT feed it to your dog. PetSmart and Petco will replace it. Not a biggie. Also if you buy the big bag, buy containers and separate it by how much your dog will eat for the day then put in the freezer. What I do, I place a container from the freezer to the fridge the day before, and by the morning it has thawed out and it's still fresh. This is not kibble, which you can leave out in a cabinet for weeks and still feed your dog. This is fresh food that does goes bad.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought this but Im supposed to feed my 50 lb dog about 5 cups a day? That's about $10 worth of this product, is that right?

  1. 5 cups a day?  What kind of dog do you have?  I have a medium (47lb) dog and feed him one cup twice a day.

I have small dogs, there is no way they could eat the 5 pound bag within 5 days and freezing is not recommended. Why is there only one option of bag size with this beef and lamb product? A smaller 3 pound bag would be helpful.

  1. I have 2 13 lb dogs, who go through the bag in about a week and a half (2 feedings a day).  If feeding them once a day it lasts about 2 weeks.  If you still want something smaller, there are “roll” options in the same section that you buy the bag, but you have to chop it up yourself.

I cannot find the beef and bison of this food anywhere available in Jackson or Memphis, TN. Does anyone know where I can get some?????

What wet and dry foods have no chicken? Dog has allergy issues with chicken.

    1. this food has no chicken, its great if your pet has an allergy to chicken

Is the five lb bag refrigerated or kept frozen. I bought raw food for my dog and i didn't like the fact that is was raw n needed to be in freezer.  I actually cooked it cause i wouldn't eat raw food n won't give to my dog, the thought of worms came to me.

    1. This isn't raw food. It's cooked.

How many cups will I get out of the 5.5lb. bag

    1. 17 cups.

Anybody use this beyond the the recommended 7 days after opening? My dog cannot consume the entire bag in 7 days. Does it freeze/thaw well?

    1. I freeze in ziplocks… put enough for a couple days in each bag take out night before I need one that way it thaws…works fine & my little one is a very picky eater…she likes this

Has anyone else had the experience of Stan 19 where the food had mold and he had to throw out four bags? This concerns and worries me, I love my dogs and hate for them to get sick because of food that goes old quickly!

    1. I had a bag that went bad before I could use it all. One day if just smelled horrible. I called Fresh Pet and they sent me a voucher for another bag. Keep your receipt and the original bag until you use up all the food just in case. I had to mail the opened bag to Fresh pet.
