Initially Freshpet "recommended" the "Senior" product however to our displeasure we were unable to find it anywhere near us. After further research I read about the Freshpet "vital" (Healthy Aging) that contained grains (which is very important). I located this product at our local Petco hoping that when time to purchase more this location will have it in stock. In the meantime I sliced the "tube" contents into disks and cut each disk in half. To ensure the longevity of the product I put each cut disk onto parchment paper and into the freezer. After 12 hours (4) portions were place into a vacuum bag and removed all the air. Thus far this process is working great and as needed a replacement portion is allowed too briefly thaw (not 100%) and placed into the refrigerator. Happy to say that the combination of the Royal Canin (Chihuahua) and Freshpet is a winner winner chicken dinner. Still debating as to whether or not to slowly give only Freshpet to her. TBD
