Looks good enough to be a human food

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that I can pick out specific veggies or grains of rice in this food. It feels like I'm giving my dog some of l the human food that he so often begs for. He enjoyed this as a fresh topper on his kibble. It was easy to slice into small bits, and was moist without being greasy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is incentivized. My boys loved this food. A great addition to their crunchy food. I still have to give them crunchy food because of their teeth issues but would switch to this completely if I could. No left over dinner when I mix this in.

If you can't feed this every day as meal, use as a

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No hype up! My two loves ❤️ definitely enjoyed ! Although it's not feasible to feed two (one large and one extra large) dogs this for an every day meal, it works great as a treat. Shelf life is awesome and the ingredients are exceptionally better than treats. I plan future purchases and keeping in my fridge as a treat rather than purchasing boxed crunch treats just for the nutritional value and freshness. These two hams approve with a standing ovation for taste!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog love a mixture of dry and wet dog food!! I paired their favorite vita with their everyday food. And oh, they did not disappoint. They devoured it like nothing! They even were fighting for more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog ate all of it! She loved it. Shes usually a picky eater and would have to sniff and think about it before eating but this one, she went right to it. It made her such a happy puppy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog got to try this Freshpet Vital Dog Food and she loved it. It’s pretty pricey for a 2 lb dog food but probably worth it since it’s better and healthier for my dog. The consistency form is denser than the usual dog food I feed her. Storage is easy I’m able to separate and cut it to whatever size portion I want to feed her. It has measurements on the package. My dog seems to love it and has a little more energy than usual.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Freshpet Vital Chicken with rice, peas, and carrots is a refrigerated fresh dog food made with real chicken as the main ingredient and simple, recognizable whole foods. It’s gently cooked, free from artificial colors and preservatives, and formulated to be complete and balanced, which makes it a great option for picky eaters or dogs that do better on fresh food. Many owners notice improved appetite, digestion, and coat health, though it does need refrigeration and can cost more than dry kibble. Overall, it’s a solid fresh food choice if you want wholesome ingredients and are okay with the added storage and price. 🐶💚

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The packaging was in a nice sleeve to keep it fresh. I cut a slice and then chopped it up the texture held up when I placed it in my dog’s bowl. She loved it.

Questions

1 - 10 of 13 Questions

Can this be frozen?

  1. Yes. This can be frozen. I slice mine into small wedges and leave in small baggies in the freezer. I give medicine (smashed pill form) with them and my dog loves it.

Yes, I have the bag fresh pet bottles fresh cut chicken recipe. Does it have to be refrigerated before it’s opened

  1. Yes.....always!

In the Torrington,CT Petco, Why are they charging $30.29 for a 6lb loaf of FreshPet Vital Chicken/ Brown Rice and Carrots when online it  says $18.49 for a 6lb loaf of the same and available in the Torrington Petco?

  1. I do not live in CT, but I would guess that the local store has probably higher overhead, and those are then passed on to the customer. I apologize if my answer is not too much help.

Someone else has asked this question, but there is no reply.  WHAT IS THE SODIUM CONTENT OF FRESH PET VITAL... CHICKEN, TURKEY, AND SALMON RECIPES?

How long can it be refrigerated if it stays unopened?

    1. It has an expiration date on each roll.  The ones that I have don’t expire until 11/03/2021.

    Can puppies eat this?

Can the Vital dog food be frozen ?

      1. Yes. I buy the large size for my small dogs because it costs about half as much per pound.  I cut it into pieces that will each last 4-5 days, then use my Foodsaver to vacuum seal them.  I don't let it go all the way with the vacuum because it pulls too much moisture out, just until the air is gone, then I hit the seal button.

Can you microwave it to warm it up

      1. I do...10-15 seconds

what is a french bulldog average size meal? Portion per roll?

My dos loves this product but he is only 15 lbs therefore the meat loses its quality and he won't eat it. Can I freeze half the roll when I purchase to keep its freshness? We keep it in the roll and then a plastic bag, air tight.

        1. Yes. My dog is 13 lbs and eats 1/2 pound a day broken out over 2 meals (he's thin so can handle a little more quantity). I buy the 6 lb roll and cut it into half pound slices. I then wrap it in plastic wrap and aluminum foil, put it in a ziploc freezer bag, put it in the freezer and take it out when needed. The texture changes slightly after it has been thawed but it did not make a difference at all to my dog; he ate it just the same.
