For best results, do not mix with non clumping cat litter. For first time use, start with an empty, clean cat litter box. Fill it with 3 to 4 inches of Fresh Step Cat Litter. Remove clumps and solids daily and dispose in trash. Do not flush. The rest of the litter stays fresh. Add more Fresh Step Cat Litter to refresh your litter box each time you scoop. Maintain level of litter at 3 to 4 inches.

As a reminder, especially to pregnant women and immunosuppressed persons, cat feces can sometimes transmit a disease called toxoplasmosis. It is okay, but not as good as FRESH STEP TRIPLE ACTION type. The Triple Action always came with NO FEBREEZE, but sadly, now it does. From the smell of the Febreeze, my cat became so sick it cost me thousands of dollars.... I almost lost her. This is the second time it happened to my cat and I wanted to make sure this is the reason. I would suggest that cats with sensitive systems, do NOT Fresh Step litter unless they go back to a couple of types without Febreeze. I'll try this one but not sure if it will stand up to the Triple Action. Putting Febreeze in all of these litters is ten steps downward. Cats, like humans, do not need to be breathing all sorts of chemicals. It will cost you big time and if I lost my cat, I would of been a screaming me-me.
