Great nano tank kit! - needs a timer and heater

Great nano tank kit - needs a heater and a timer for lights as for some odd reason Fluval did not put a timer in the LED light or remote. Built in timers are pretty standard even for common cheap LED light strips. Used a household timer and plugged LED AC adapter into it. Filter pump has great flow - to slow flow down, put a piece of coarse filter foam in the output spout before you install it. The filter intake port covers which really are there to reduce suction power so fish don't get sucked onto the port can be installed in reverse - take the filter intake cover(s) off and put it/them back on on the other side of the filter baffle wall for a neater look. I filled the port covers with a strip of coarse Fluval filter foam before reinstalling on the back side of the rear filter baffle wall.

Neat all in one tank

Great little tank with a lot of potential. While it will grow low light, easy plants, and filtration is decent enough, it becomes even better with some modifications. The included pump is not adjustable, and i find the flow to be a little strong. In addition, if you keep cherry shrimp, you'll find shrimp hanging out in chamber one. That being said, there's a solution to the tanks minor shortcomings. It is still a 5 star product, and has great aesthetics.
