I've had this tank for about 2 weeks and love the overall design. However, the included heater does not work well. The original heater that came with the kit varies between 82.5 degrees F to 84.5 degrees F, which is too hot for a betta. This could be a difficult thing to deal with if someone is new to betta-keeping and are still learning about their requirements. Fluval was quick to send a replacement but the replacement is giving the same exact issues. I have contacted Fluval again and they'll let me know what the next steps are for resolving the issue. Overall, I really like the design of the tank; it's great for both beginner and advance fish keepers. I love how a lot of the hardware is hidden in the back and can't be seen in the tank. Also the flow is great for bettas. Plus, the built in water changer is very much appreciated. Once the heater issue is resolved I'd be happy to give a much higher rating.

I having problems with heater as going too hot returned, the one that came with the aquarium they gave me a new one and a new one is doing the same thing as to too hot going in the 80s now we see what they do next I had to go and buy a new heater different manufacture

I really wanted to love this aquarium, but I’ve ordered 2 and both arrived broken (as others have experienced). All of the feet came detached on the first and the same issue on the second, plus cracked glass. It doesn’t appear to be a shipping issue as both boxes came in good condition. It’s possible that the internal packing materials aren’t adequate. However, I believe it’s actually a design flaw in the way the feet are attached to the bottom of the aquarium. The legs are made of very smooth, glossy plastic and are attached to the glass with black silicone. The actual surface area of the feet that touch the ground is also very small which appears to put pressure forcing the adhered portion of the feet away from the tank. Even if they actually arrived attached, I wouldn’t trust them to not fail under the weight of the tank once water is added. In order for it to be structurally sound, I think the adhesive would need to be changed (to something like epoxy) and the surface of the plastic would need to be roughed up for better adhesion. I was really expecting much better quality from a brand like Fluval, especially considering the price. Now I have to decide whether I’ll spend additional time and money to repair it myself or research another aquarium to buy.

I have zero complaints, exactly what it is supposed to be. I think I'll buy another one.

There are some quality control issues. My tank arrived with no damage to the shipping box or Fluval box. Two of the feet and corner pieces were not attached. I managed to scrape off the silicone and reattach the pieces with black silicone adhesive. BUT I shouldn’t have had to do this for a brand new tank. Also, the non-adjustable heater is running a bit higher than optimal temperature for a Betta - around 83 degrees F. I will probably replace it with an adjustable heater and thermometer.

I bought this tank after trying the 2.5 gallon and wanted to upgrade for at least a 5 gallon. I am being very pleased, great size, easy water change (that changed everything for me 😅) practical with a full lead. To be honnest : very pleased and would recommend. Fluval does not disappoint.

Arrived undamaged. Legs were not loose at all, they were nice and secure. Only cosmetic defect is a sloppy job with the silicon. I had to scrape some off of the glass; but that's not a big deal to me. The tank has been cycling for a few days now. The filter and pump are working great, but the heater is running a little warmer than the preset temp. The water temp is still within a Betta's tolerable levels though. Just at the higher end of those levels. Overall it's a great tank and is exactly what I was looking for.

I bought this tank about a month ago. Everything is working great! I see some people have received defective tanks and I just want to let others know that’s not the case for everyone. For a beginner tank it’s great I’ve got some plants in mine and I’m awaiting it to finish cycling before adding my betta.
