Is 20mg of flouxetine a safe dose for a 47 lb. American Foxhound given once s day? Also is trazadone 50mg once daily safe to use with flouxetine?
How long does it take for Prozac ( flouxetene ) to start working on dogs system . My dog have had some traumatic experiences with some people and vets which made him moderate aggressive dog . It’s now 14th day of flouxetene and I cannot see any aggression being reduced . He’s on a strict basic obedience training but still I can see him not listening to the owners much or delay in actions . I give 20ml flouxetene every day after meal . His medical condition is fine ( all checked from vets )
My cat is prescribed ear drops, and erythromycin ointment for conjunctivitis. He tolerates these medications well except for some drooling. Today I added fluoxetine, for anxiety. I have an oral solution and I gave 2.5 mg In 0.6 ml. The syringe I used, though new, was not of great quality and the medication was given in a burst (very fast like a spray). After this my cat darted off and began foaming at the mouth. This lasted only a period of minutes and my cat is now behacing normally. Thoughts?
My dog just got prescribed Prosac and I feel the dosage is too high. What is the recommended dosage? He is prescribed 60 mg twice a day and he is only 75 pounds
My dog recently had a focal seizure (never had a seizure before) and during the vet visit he was prescribed Prozac. I've read Prozac shouldn't be given to dogs with a history of seizures. Should I stop giving it to him? He's 85 lbs and is taking 40 mg a day (is that considered a high or low dose?)
My dog has been taking Fluoxetine for almost 3 weeks now for anxiety and obsessive behavior. This was recommended by his trainer & I have reluctantly agreed. Side effects were immediate. We’ve stopped trazadone and started Prozac because of our Bongos behavioural issues . He’s in too much stress and anxiety and now tries to show moderate Aggression . . Doesn’t walk properly , shows extreme hyperactivity and doesn’t listen to commands properly . All of a sudden he was changed. He’s now leashed at his own sleeping spot.
