I have a 16 week old female boxer, we are trying to potty train her and have been since we got her. She won't walk on the leash. We tried a harness and a collar nothing works. She just stands there. We try without a leash and she runs off. We have tried taking the treats out with her and it doesn't work. Any tips on getting her potty trained or walking on the leash will greatly be appreciated. We adore our rescue dog and I love to take him on walks but although he’s great with people, he’s very unpredictable with other dogs and he’s extremely prey driven. So much that my 13 year old can’t cntril him if he sees a cat or bunny or something. What do you recommend as far as a harness or collar that will help control his pulling and lunging so that we can enjoy our walks with him more? He’s about 60 lbs, by the way.
Collar training My 14 week papillon is tiny just over 2lbs. The smallest harness does not fit. I began collar and leash during potty pad time, then keeping on and off for periods yesterday. Of course she bites and plays with the leash, causing it to be more of a potty training distraction than tool. The collar, right sized no dangles made of nylon, seems to irritate her skin. She itches it constantly. Is this hurting her skin or part of getting used to the collar?
Aquiline is an inside cat although we try to have supervise outdoor leashtime we have found that his mesh harness what does what we were originally recommended stretches too much and he can rather easily slip out of it and get free he did this yesterday on our way back from the pet store to get him new toys. What type of harness would you recommend for supervised outside time
She is doing very very well loose leash walking. Well do so I can text hold water in my leash hand without spilling and can walk with our other dog who is 3 years old but he isn’t weaned off a prong we got him when he was 2.5 years old no manners. How can I get him to do as well as her off prongs? Also she goes in grasses at times etc how can I discourage that? How to get her able to walk by dogs she just bounces(playful wagging tail and bowing) so I have her wait as they pass. Any advice thanks
Our puppy does not understand the leash and when we hook it to her collar she flips around and acts crazy. We want her to get used to it but she is going to hurt herself. We want to get her a harness but what is the best type of harness for a puppy? Some have soft material versus some made out of thinner collar materials. Which is better?
15 month old female German Shepherd running with other dogs at dog park comes up visibly limping nursing rear paw. There’s a thin dime size piece of her paw pad flapping no blood. She continues to walk/run gingerly on it today. Flap portion is gone
