Is lysine good for a cat that may have a mild URI?
Is it okay to give my male cat a pet lysine supplement while he is weaning off prednisone because he started sneezing. Supplement states 1/8 teaspoon twice a day equaling 548 mg of lysine for a cat older than 6 months, is this okay to give while he is wraning off prednisone?
What it is a vet recommend L-lysine for a kitten of 11-12 weeks and will it help her fight her upper respiratory infection? Thank you
Hello, can I give a L-Lysine to a nursing kitten? if yes, how I can do that - mix with water or milk? I bottle feed him. Thanks
My cat is showing signs of an URI. Right now he’s just sneezing, watery eyes, and is breathing out of his mouth. My vet can’t fit me in until next week so they told me to use lysine powder to clear up the symptoms. I tried to mix it in with wet food which he didn’t touch and he won’t eat dry food either. Am I able to mix it in with water and syringe it?
My cat keeps sneezing, the vet I went to two weeks ago said it should be fine unless she is having alot of discharge from her eyes, the vet prescribed me this viralys l-lysine supplement for two weeks
my vet prescribed lysine powder for my adult male cat. can i use nature made supplements for humans ? Its the same amino acid and its much cheaper
My cat has a small rodent ulcer on the corner of his mouth. At the end of October, our vet gave him a steroid injection and Clavamox. Eventually the inflammation cleared up. Unfortunately, the ulcer has returned. His appetite is fine (Blue Buffalo indoor dry kibble since he was a kitten), we use ceramic bowls. He's not scratching and I really don't think he has fleas. I'm wondering if lysine would be helpful or if an omega supplement would be better? Maybe colloidal silver?
My cat was having sneezing fits due to the herpesvirus. My vet instructed me to give a 500mg lysine chew in the morning and a 500mg chew at night. I have been doing this since Monday and have noticed a significant improvement. However, I read online that it doesn’t work and is actually harmful to the cats. Is it true that its potentially detrimental to my cats health?
My eight year old calico cat was diagnosed by my DVM with herpes and possible food allergies, particularly to chicken. She is given lysine powder daily as prescribed by my vet. She is constantly scratching her face, specifically around her eyes, her ears are hot. The cat is clearly uncomfortable. Would offering her 1/2 a child's Benadryl tab be advisable?
My cat suffers from dark eye discharge that I believe is related to respiratory issues. I previously asked a question about him here before and I was told that respiratory problems are often chronic and he could benefit from supplements. I wanted to know if Licks Immunity Disease Defense Cat Supplement would be good to give him. It seems to be specifically for respiratory health. Also, are there any risks I should be aware of? I don't want to give him something that could make him sick.
Hi I have a 5 1/2 year old male cat who is diagnosed with FIV approximately 3 years ago he's been on l-lysine for three years it got better with no symptoms at all the whole time and now he still on the lysinne.... He hasn't been sick with a respiratory infection since he's been on the l-lysine but the last 4-5 days he's been sneezing quite a bit... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks Monique
