Description

Please note that the product information displayed is provided by manufacturers, suppliers and other third parties and is not independently verified by Petco.

The incidence of sand colic is often thought to be limited to horses in sandy areas; however, horses can have sand colic episodes regardless of where they live. Horses that graze or eat off the ground are more likely to pick up and digest sand and dirt, which can increase the risk of sand colic. Sand colic can occur when a horse ingests sand or soil particles, either accidentally or intentionally, that accumulate in the horse's intestinal tract and can cause an obstruction in your horse's colon. Using Equi Aid Natural Horse Psyllium Pellets may help reduce the possibility of digestive colic. It contains premium psyllium fiber, in palatable apple & molasses flavored psyllium pellets, to support the removal of sand and dirt from the ventral colon.

  • - Supports ideal digestive health: may help reduce the possibility of digestive sand colic in horses
  • - Helps maintain a healthy intestinal tract: supports the removal of sand & dirt from the ventral colon
  • - High quality ingredients: contains premium psyllium seed husk a natural, soluble, psyllium fiber that increases bulk
  • - Easy to feed: palatable apple & molasses flavored psyllium pellets for horses
  • - Quality: nasc certified

Prebiotic for senior horse with digestive issues

Horsey

My senior horse has some digestive issues. My vet recommended feeding him psyllium every day as a probiotic. I have tried a few brands and they are pretty much the same. This works just as well as the others.

Perfect for horses on sand paddocks

Danielle

My two geldings get a weekly round of this each month. They live on mud-managed paddocks in the winter with river sand, so using this each month is especially important for me. One of my horses struggled with chronic fecal water and that cleared up after routine use of psyllium.

Easy to use and horses like it. Enjoy the auto ship so my horses always have their first of the month purge.

Unfortunately my horse refused to eat this supplement. He readily eats other Psyllium products, so I will switch back

Psyllium Fiber pellets

Sawgrass Farm

I have used this in my barn for over a year (maybe close to two years). I put it in the morning grain twice per week (on Wednesdays and Sundays), and it is followed by a warm bran mash in the evening (on Wednesdays and Sundays). I have not had problems with colic since my horses were on this twice per week program.
