Keeps pretty warm. Dropped the lamp once and it stopped working. Had to buy another. But working good so far!

Bulb exploded two days after purchase.

I purchased this bulb two days ago for my veiled chameleon and was loving the heat it provided for him, however today (less than 48 hours after purchase) it exploded into pieces less than a foot away from my chameleon. This bulb was a replacement bulb for another ExoTerra Halogen bulb that burnt out within 10 days of the purchase date. I have not had good experiences with this brand and will not be purchasing again.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Works really well. Very warm temperature and great for basking. Comes with an inscription for distance/temperatures on the side of the box, which is really useful. I purchased a lower wattage (75 watt) to compared to what was previously used (100 watt) of a different brand and type of bulb. The previous one was by a reputable name but burned out much too soon (this was replacement as well). This halogen type seems to be more reliable and beneficial to my bearded dragon. I use this for uva and basking, alongside a uvb fluorescent (tube) bulb. Together they make a great combination, and really light up the enclosure.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Can this be used with a dimmable fixture?

Are these bulbs good for baby aquatic turtles. Do they provide heat also.

    1. I have Central American ornate wood turtles. They were several months old when I got them. They seem to do well with it. They are semi aquatic. The bulbs also provide heat. I would double check with your vet.

can u use it with a tortoise?

      Is this dimmable?

        does it provide UVB light?

        1. Not in the D3 range of 290-320. You need a bulb marked UVB.
