Works great while it lasts, poor customer service.

This thermostat worked really well while it lasted! All the cords and probs have very thick high quality cables, (if not a bit too thick). However after 4 months it broke, and the manufacturer hasn’t responded to 3 of my emails.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good budget thermostat

This is a great budget thermostat for a terrarium. Their are better one out there but for the price it really is a great item. You can only hook one heater to it however unless you by a multi outlet plug from a hardware store. I currently use it with a ceramic nano heater and it keeps the temperature near perfect. The temp gage wire is a bit thick: about like an extension cord. However, I do believe it is water proof.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not happy with this it should have lasted a lot longer then 3 months for the price.. also there heat bulbs burn out fast you would have better luck and quality at tractor supply.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Worked for quite a few months then failed

It seemed to work correctly for quite a while and temperature stayed reasonably constant. A few days ago as the weather got colder I noticed the LED was on but the heating element was not, The heating element worked when powered directly. It is a bad design to have the LED come on when heating is not drawing current and puts the health of animals in jeopardy. I took the unit apart and there was a burned smell from the circuit board. Similar failures are posted in quite a few reviews.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Electronic thermostat works nicely to maintain the under the tank temperature for our Leopard Gecko. We still monitor almost daily as our gecko is young and we just got her. The tank has maintained the perfect temp.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Barely works

This thing is terrible. It only turns the heating element back on after it’s dropped down like 10 degrees from its set temp. I have to run it at the highest temp so it doesn’t keep shutting off for no reason (which isn’t safe and I have a new one on the way). It was just off at 85° meanwhile I have it set to 95°. All the big reptile companies are a joke. Exo terra, Zilla, zoo med, etc. Invest in actual quality products instead of petco sold junk that puts your animal at risk. Not surprised with exo terra. Even more not surprised with petco. What should I have expected from a store that still sells heat rocks? Haha.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Stopped working after 2 months

Worked fine for about two months regulating the temp for my snake's heat mat but suddenly stopped working. The light was on indicating power was going to the heat mat but the mat was not heating. The heat mat still works on its own so I know that the thermostat was the faulty piece of equipment.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Does this maintain the heaters at a certain level or turn the heaters off when they reach a certain temperature?

  1. This specific thermostat will halt power to your heat source once the desired temperature has been reached as indicated by the probe. There will be more temperature "swings" with on/off thermostats vs a proportional thermostat which are designed to adjust the power to the heat source to maintain a desired temp vs ceasing all power to the heat source.

Is buying these and using them better then using heat bulbs ?

  1. Hi there! A thermostat is a much-needed piece of equipment. Its used to regulate heat sources for reptiles and amphibians. Heat pads, ceramic heat emitters, and other sources of warmth can get too hot and potentially burn the animals. Having a thermostat is highly recommended to avoid burns and vet visits. I don't know if a thermostat can be used with a light bulb.

does this work with a heat lamp as well?

  1. No! There is a dimmable version for heat lamps. This will blow the bulbs out fast.
