How can I help slow down my dog’s eating?
Midnight just had his yearly check up and everything was good. I have noticed that he eats real fast and then throws up his food. So we got him a slow feeder bowl. It helped a little but once in a while he still eats too fast and throws it all up. What else can i do to help him slow down?
Are there specific purposes for a slow feed bowl other than to slow down a dogs eating? Does it help them digest their food better or help them in any specific way? For example my dog eats rather fast, will a slow feed bowl provide any additional benefits besides just slowing down her eating?
I bought a slow feeder from the pet store to slow down my cat's eating but she is barely eating and she will walk away from the dish. I don't know what to do if I go back to feeding her like I was she will gorge on her food and then throw it up. How can I get her to start eating more from the slow feeder?
My puppy swallows her food whole, it is a smaller kibble. We were soaking it in water until a few days ago, but she swallows it whole either way. We got a slow feeder bowl to try and slow her down and hopefully encourage her to chew at some point. Is it bad that she is not chewing her food? I adopted a very overweight dog. I am working on weight management and she has lost some weight but I'm concerned as she gobbles her food down literally in a minute. I just bought the puzzle bowl but she can only reach one morsel at a time using her tongue as she is a big dog. This doesn't seem right either but I don't know. It definitely slowed her eating. Our 7 month Siberian Husky used to eat so fast we fed him in a maze bowl, but over the last week he hasn't been as enthusiastic about this meals (1 cup Blue Wilderness puppy food 3 x a day). He has had soft stools over the last week and and a half & some day it's pudding like. He got a new Benebone - but no other change in diet or treats... He did eat some chicken bones about 3 weeks ago but he didn't seem adversely affected in the days following that incident... Pls advise - thank you
