Long lead plus hands free!

Peaches814

This is a really great hand free lead. The material is okay, since you don't have to hold it with your hands I find it more expectable. The lock on the c-clip is great. The length is much better for hands free than the much shorter 6ft leashes that don't give the dog enough room. It also seems to be waterproof. My dog peed on it while we were walking and it just rolled right off. The adjustable length loops also make it easy to real your dog in if you need to quickly control them.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Will be fine unless your dog is a chewer.

I bought this to tie out my puppy. But it has a caution on it not to let your animal chew it. My puppy still chews on things. I don't want to take the chance that chewing on it could make her sick or worse. So I will be returning it.

Metal clasp broke

I took in my 48 pound rescue malamute mix (who is an escape artist and near impossible to catch once loose) downtown to to a friends house so he can play in the yard with her dog. We had him harnessed up and linked to a metal pole using a strong thick metal cable and the carabiner from this leash. Well as soon as he saw a cat he began to run full force and the the only thing that broke was the carabiner. His harness could withstand the pull. The chain we used handled it. But the carabiner from this leash did not! The metal completely snapped and bent setting him free. It only took one run for this metal to bend. It took the whole neighborhood including myself over 24 hours and sedation to finally capture my poor rescue followed by a long bath and grooming from all the street debris. Not to mention the added trauma he had to experience from being loose. It was very unsafe for him to be loose in this area because of all the traffic. Disappointed that this carabiner couldn’t withstand the force from a 48lb dog. I DO NOT recommend for someone with strong runners. This company should really supply a stronger carabiner showing kn ratings if they are going to label it as a strong leash.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This leash has been perfect for training my 4 month old GSD puppy. I’ve used other long leads for training my rescue pitbulls in the past but being able to adjust it to different lengths has been a great advantage. I highly recommend

Does it have a handle

  1. Hi Valued Guest, Good day! The leash “makes a handle” when you clip the carabiner to one of the straps. There are straps every 2 feet. Thanks,

If you are starting out with 2 ft, 4 ft, etc., what are you supposed to do with all the extra lead? And how is this hands fred?

  1. Hi MomofFeyre, This lead is intended to be used as a recall lead.In this way, the trainer would clip the lead around their waist and use the excess lead to release the dog the remainder of the lead to “sit,” “stay,” and “come.”One still must hold onto the remaining portion of the lead to avoid tripping or entanglement. Thanks,

Just bought one of these, and it doesn't come with any instructions. Does anyone know how to use the adjustment hoops?
