Be careful of metal staples!

I've been buying this for my cat for many years. Yesterday, I went to move our current one and got stabbed by a metal, staple-like protrusion coming from the seam where the material wraps around the post. I have no idea how long it's been jutting out or if it has caused any other damage. Then I checked the another one (I retire the old, worn out one to another room) and found yet another staple that was sticking even further out. I can't even pull them out and wire cutters still leave a decent section to get hurt. So disappointing and unsafe!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

My adult cats love this type of scratcher, unfortunately I have to keep one corner under a chair so they don't flip it. The only to make it non flippable is maybe make the base out of marble lol. They absolutely tore apart their old one in about a year or less, they shred the carpet but that's their favorite scratching medium so it's not going to last too long. I would recommend this.

I have a larger cat who needs a taller cat scratching post. Is it possible to get a carpeted, 30 inch cat scratching post. He only will use the carpet it post.
