Ramp for a Dane

RB Dane

This is easy to hook up and nice it has the latch to keep it from slipping off the bumper. It would be nice if it was a little wider as our Great Dane is leery of climbing up. The carpet on the ramp helps from the feet sliding. Overall a good product.

Works for senior Great Dane

I lifted my Jeep recently & ever since, our Great Dane cannot get in. She is also a senior, so it was time to purchase a ramp. I got $20 off for picking up in store & it was already on sale, so it was a steal. It’s easy to use and sturdy. It was a little wobbly for me (135 lbs) but standing upright on 2 legs disburses weight much differently than a 4 legged animal. Needless to say, our Dane is 150 lbs & she can use this ramp without issue. It’s wide enough & the carpet gives her some grip. She is still unsure of it, but she has used it with me guiding her up on a leash 3 times now. The hook latches to a loop at the back of my Jeep, so the ramp doesn’t budge which gives our Dane security. If it were wobbly, she would absolutely not use it. Finally, I am able to fold it back and lift it into my Jeep without issues. I lean it sideways against my Jeep while traveling. I need a bungie cord to secure it so it doesn’t move while traveling. Great purchase & super happy our giant girl can get in/out the Jeep finally. (As a bonus, our senior small dogs, 13 lbs each, also enjoy using it with enticement from treats.)

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great for my 90 lb dog and my Suburban

Love this ramp for my 90 lb dog. This has been a solid ramp for my dog for the last two months. I drive a Surburban so the gate is quite high on the back of it. Once the ramp is hooked to the back door latch, the ramp doesn't move when my dog climbs up/down it. It is a bit wonky to get in and out of the truck because it's so big. It's also a little tough to open/close because it's got a good grip on itself and doesn't open too easily, but it does save your fingers from getting squished! I gave it 5 stars because it's solidly made and does what I need it to do without it tipping, rocking, or falling apart.

Yes, I recommend this product.

We ordered this with same day delivery. We have a big dog that got very sick. She couldn't go outside by herself without the ramp help. The order came quickly. The ramp is great quality. Durable and strong. We'll also be able to use it to get her in and out of the car. Very pleased.

Sturdy for my 100 pound German Shepherd.

My little guy (100 pound German Shepherd) strained his ACL slipping on our wooden floor and was put on strict doctor's orders of no running or jumping for nearly 2 months. He goes absolutely everywhere with me, so in order to help him into the Outback without his usual jumping up into it, we purchased this ramp which was delivered the very next day! It took about five minutes of lining the ramp with treats and watching me walk up and down it without incident for him to give it a whirl. I had to repeat this for a few days before he was no longer skeptical of it and would get in without the treats. PROS: It attaches easily to the Subaru Outback and doesn't slip or rock, even with my weight (120 pounds). It very securely and steadily holds its place as my dog bounds up and down it. The non-slip grip is perfect and works. CONS: It's pretty heavy and a bit cumbersome to open. It really seems like the latch to open it should be on the other end so that I don't have to flip it around after opening it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Very nice ramp, sturdy and easy to set up. We used it to get our large white shepherd into our travel trailer. It could be wider as it took two of us to get her up and down the ramp. All in all it worked to get her in and out of the camper

No, I do not recommend this product.

Easy to use and worked well with my Honda Pilot. A little bulky to carry in the back seat if you have other people riding with you but other than that great item!

Questions

How does the latching mechanism work? Do you need to use it if placed on a stable surface?

  1. Hi darkim, Good day! This pet ramp has a tether which is meant to attach to the rear latch hook of a vehicle for additional safety and support. Note, that it may not be possible to attach to all vehicle makes and models. It is highly recommended that the tether end of the ramp is resting securely on the vehicle for optimal stability. Thanks

Has anyone tried using this with a 2015 or newer Ford F150 CrewCab rear door?

  1. Hi USNCWO3Ret, Good day! This product is compatible with most vehicles make and models. If purchased you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can return it to any of our Petco or Unleashed by Petco stores or to one of our petco.com warehouses within 30 days of purchase. Thanks

Can this be used over outside stairs. We have 3 short stairs from our deck to the backyard and are trying to see if this would work with our 90lb labrador.

  1. It might work with a lab. I found it too scratchy a feel and too steep to use on the three steps on my deck for a small Lhasa/mix

Would this lean securly on a king size bed? How would it stay in place?

  1. Hi CB1992, Good day! This is designed to be used in getting in and out of vehicles. Thanks,

Can this be used for a dog getting onto a standard sized bed-without it slipping? My dog just had a herniated/bulging disc removed from his neck. Once mobile again I don't want him jumping on and off the bed but he sleeps with me at night.

  1. This is a great use for this ramp. I used it for the same thing and it never slipped. I did use it on carpet so I would try it with a rug if you have smooth floors.

I put my Giant breed dog in the back seat of my SUV not the back. Will it work on the side door as well?

  1. I've used mine on the passenger door so I would think it would work on any door. I love mine!

Would you recommend this ramp for a medium size dog with a wheelchair on outside stairs?

  1. It depends on how wide the wheelchair is. And how steep the stairs are. Maybe try a board the same size first. It's got good grip so the wheelchair shouldn't slide back if it's not too steep.

Would you recommend this ramp for a medium size dog with a wheelchair?

How much does the ramp weigh?

    1. About 30 lbs

Would this ramp work for a Giant Breed getting into a large SUV such as a GMC Yukon? My dogs weigh 160lbs. Is it safe for a 160lb dog in a high SUV?

    1. Be sure to check the measurements and decide if it’s wide enough for your dog. I’d say it’s long enough—I used it to go down our back steps (4 steps) and it worked well for that. But my dog was a little guy, 15 pounds.
