Works great but setup was not intuitive (for me)
The first one I bought was all one piece & the instructions were not clear. I thought it was defective because of the gap between the gate & the latch. I ordered another one & returned the first to Petco. When I went to return the 1st & pick up the other, the sales associate showed me how to set it up. Apparently the 1st one was not defective, the instructions were not clear. You have to keep twisting the pressure screws on both top sides to get the gap to close enough to latch the gate. I took the 2nd one home (it was in several pieces which I think helped me understand it better) & it was easy to set up and is exactly what I needed.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Good for what it does.
I bought this a little over a year ago. It fit, with a bit of work. I had to saw off a piece to I could install it with the gate between the two extensions.
The gate _really_ needs the cups to hold the ends against the walls. The gate will either be impossible to open, or the whole thing will fall down. Once I broke down and installed them, it worked great.
Unfortunately, a plastic piece in the latch broke recently. I had to remove most of it, leaving just the pin and a spring . I would be willing to buy a replacement latch assembly. I don't know how to do that.

This gate is marketed as fitting 29-50" wide. That isn't true and its misleading. It's 29, 35ish OR 50. It does not fit our 46" door way. I attempted to make it work in a different location, but it just wouldn't pressure mount. It wobbled and wasn't sturdy at all. I got this because I didn't want to drill into the wall and was under the impression it was adjustable.

Width of doorway 29-50" is not accurate
This gate arrived last night. It fits my doorway that is 36.25". I bought a second gate for a doorway that is 34.5" and it will not fit. The doorway is too big for no extensions, but too small for the smaller extension. An inch bigger or smaller would have worked. So the 29-50" description is not actually accurate.

Good size gate
I was looking for pet gate right size for outside front deck and found on online labor sale then went picked it up same day. follow the instruation paper took me about 15 min to set up before go outside. my dogs tried to escape but gate is block it ha ha ha! I will find something for my window maybe foam or pad then all is good.

Will this kit work for an opening that is 40 inches? I know it says it goes till 52 inches, but someone’s review said that once you add an extension that it automatically goes to 49 inches.
- Hi Laurenlynn, This gate without the extensions is 29” and the spindle rods can add 2” on either side. This gate comes with a 6” and a 12” extension, so unfortunately you could only get to 39” with the gate plus the 6” extension. Thanks

The manual (and warning label) on the item say it is not suitable for children... but this was not mentioned anywhere on the product page on the website. We have both pets and children. Can you please clarify what safety risk this gate poses to children?

- Ours is white. I think that is the only color offered on this one. Goes great with everything.
