This is an audible whistle so humans can hear it also. Not really good for training. What you need is a dog whistle that is non audible to human. There's no use waking your neighbors up to train your dog.

I bought this and immediately tried to use it on a walk with my dog. Halfway through the walk, I go to grab the whistle and it had fallen off the lanyard!

I got two of these thinking the first one might have been defective. In both cases, the whistle dropped off the stem all by itself and was lost. In other words, when you have the lanyard around your neck and start off with the lock nut secured very tight, you will discover that the whistle is gone at some point of your walk. I don't know if the motion of a person's steps loosens the whistle but this is clearly a poor product.

No, I do not recommend this product.
