I see that the height is 10.5 in. Airlines only allow up to 8 in high. Will the carrier compress/squish down a few inches, to fit under an airline seat?

Is the actual carrier machine washable as well?
- Don’t put in a washing machine that has an agitator or it will destroy it. Recommend a washing machine that’s front loading that has no agitator or a clean by hand.
