The size and shape is awesome, its a little taller, wider and a smig shorter than the usual. perfect for my large cat and fits in my cars front seat nicely (fits in the seat way better than the longer crates) . The top opening size is a dream, its a lot easier to put my cat in, relatively speaking. The build quality is it's biggest concern, especially at the price point. The shell itself is plenty strong/sturdy. The body latches are 100% plastic, and the hinge points are flimsy plastic, AS IS, I would, in NO WAY, trust its integrity from a decent impact in a fall with a pet inside. With that said, FORTUNATELY the manufacturer put holes for zip ties in all the necessary attachment/hinge points :-). It is very east to place zip ties where needed (each corner even has a hole for a small long bolt). I zip tied the top door hinge, but not the latch. Using a bungie around the body as a back up safety for the top door is probably a good idea. I don't plan on using the front door so it will stayed zip tied. If your ok with storing this assembled, its a great solution, not so much if your going to reassemble on a regular basis because of the plastic attachment points.

I sent these to a friend that uses them for transporting the feral cats to the vets. She only uses this brand...

Bought this in person yesterday and my 15 lb cat loves it. He feels much safer in a hard crate like this and he actually sleeps in it throughout the night. Hopefully it’s as sturdy as it seems when his vet appointment comes around

I bought one of these recently because I had a vet appointment for my two boys. One of my carriers had broken, and this carrier was wonderful. Is about the same size as the old one on the outside but shaped differently to allow the inside to be roomier for my slightly larger than average cats. So I am buying another so they can both enjoy the trip to the vet!

I just brought this home and tried to assemble. Much like another commenter, the instructions were little help. Once 'together' the clasps won't stay clasped. They keep opening back up. The handle is a joke. I tried to pick it up without anything inside and it fell off and the carrier fell on my foot. The size of the carrier is nice, but wouldn't want to 'carry' it anywhere. Might be nice for a stay at home kennel, but the clasps might frighten your pet when they unexpectedly open. Will be taking this back tomorrow.

It's a piece of crap. I returned it for a refund. Not a safe carrier. Was bringing home a rescue cat and needed a carrier this was not it. I wish Petco would actually think of animal safety instead of making money off of unsuspecting consumers.

This cage has 4 latches that you have to snap together to hold the top and bottom halves of the cage in place. I was not strong enough to snap them together. For context: I am a 40 year old, relatively strong, woman who works out regularly. I set the carrier aside to ask my husband to do it but forgot. The parts got lost. I thought they would turn up but 6 or 8 months have passed and they haven't. The company doesn't sell replacement latches. I don't have a receipt. I am literally throwing away a brand new $70 carrier.

This is a terrible product. I wasn't strong enough to snap the latches on myself - the gray ones that hold the top to the bottom sections. For context, I'm a pretty strong, 40 year old woman who works out regularly. I don't ask for help lightly. Needless to say, I was frustrated. I set it aside to ask my husband to do it and forgot. The latches disappeared. Six months went by. I don't have the receipt. They don't sell replacement latches. Now it's a piece of trash. I am very disappointed to literally be throwing away a brand new $70 item. I would have preferred to wipe with $70 instead of buying this useless cage. At least then I would have gotten something in return.
