My kitten likes to scratch my wooden chair, doors, and occasionally the door frames. I bought her a wooden cat scratcher with catnip and all she does is bite, sleeps, and lays on it. Do you have any recommendations on what would be a good scratching post? Sisal rope, Sisal carpet, and etc?
Gibbs my new 1yr old cat, he's familiar with the pink round platform ball trackor on the left. Because he had one to play with at the Northshore Animal League. At 1st he's would pounce the scratch not understanding he could scratch it as well, until I pour a little catnip on it..its organic, but wondering if it's alright brand? Or if there is a better idea to help him also understand vertical scratch post as well. as you can see he understands, he's not grasping vertical post besides walls/sofa
My cat will not stop scratching our new stair carpet. He did it with the old ine too. We have posts and mats for him but he prefers the stairs. Anything we can do to stop him?
I live in an apartment, should I put up a shelf for my cat? She is declawed is it necessary to get a scratch post?

Cat not only scratches furniture, but now is eating the materials. Help!
cat scratches a lot....no fleas...indoor cat
My cat refuses to use a scratching post, instead preferring to shred the walls, corners, and door faces to pieces. Catnip doesn't help.
My catâs got a cat tree thatâs 2m tall. She sleeps on the highest bit. Her food bowl is on the second highest level. And her water fountain is on the floor. She doesnât play with the tree or outside of it at all. she only climbs it to sleep and eat. She was a bit overweight before she got the tree and now Iâve noticed sheâs lost weight she looks more fit. Could the weight loss be simply because sheâs been having to climb to sleep and eat?
My cat is super active at night for a few days, she keeps scratching the sofa and running around. She is spayed. We have two scratching cardboards and a cat tree for her. We just moved to a new apartment for 3 weeks and she seems accommodating quite well for the new environment.
My cat has a serious and obsessive scratching behavior. I have tried EVERYTHING. She is neutered, tried ALL TYPES OF SCRATCHING POSTS/MATS, tried deterrent sprays, covering the area she scratches, ect. She has an issue scratching the carpet of my home specifically in all the corners. I have covered them all except one because she moves what is covering it. She has ripped up my carpet and she will literally sit there for HOURS scratching when I'm not around! She is doing it for fun! Please help!
