The Eupterus Catfish is a great recommendation for a cleanup crew member in African Cichlid aquariums. Be sure to never use an aquarium net to catch this fish-this catfish has rays that inevitably snag in netting, making them almost impossible to safely remove. Instead, use a plastic container to corral your fish. Like many catfishes, this species is primarily nocturnal, spending its days hiding under rocks. While you won't see much of it during the day, it'll often dart about once the lights go out and will usually put in an appearance when the tank is fed. They are sensitive to nitrates, so it is important to monitor your aquarium's water parameters. They will appreciate being added to an aquarium with a sandy substrate. This species isn't picky when it comes to diet, as almost anything offered will find itself quickly consumed.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.

Hi, I bought 6 platy fish and a black corydora catfish about 2 weeks ago, all seem in good health bright colours and swimming round as normal they are in a 48l tank which the pet store said was a big enough tank for them all, but one of them seems to be loosing his scales or I’m afraid he may have itch but it dosent look like it I hope you can help, thanks.
My Cory catfish has developed a weird bubble on it’s gill and I can’t find any information about it
Hi there, I'm not sure if this website applies to fish, but I don't have anyone in my area that can help. I have a gold nugget pleco and he eats veggies and driftwood all the time, has a large 55 gallon tank to himself and he has normal catfish habits-sleep during day, up at night. Anyways he was a beautiful black and gold but now his colour is fading... I looked it up and it means death (but he's eating and still very alive...). Is there anything you know about why else the colour could go?
My betta has red tips on his tail and my cat fish Cory has red spots as well
My fish have these weird large white spots on there head and I don't know what they are because I can tell its not ick
One of my parrot cichlid has developed black eye which I don't seem to understand as to what is it exactly. Eye is swollen and a bit out of its socket. Previously it was white but now changing to black color. Due to this fish is hiding continuously and other fishes are pinching it.
I have a catfish and it looks like his eye is messed up he died I wanted to know what happened I have a picture but not sure how to send it to you the eye is puffed out and white
A female(?) Molly fish with swollen belly, isolated from the other fish in the tank. Had for approximately 17 days.
I have a freshwater fish in my aquarium that I cannot identify. It resembles a Mosquito fish but is lighter in color, thinner, swims differently, and has what appear to be sparkles on its sides. I caught it with a net in a school of mosquito fish but it is different. it was the only one in the school that looks the way it does. I found it in the shallow part of a lake in Florida. Please help me identify it.
I've recently just purchased a fancy black gold fish and this white looking fish. The white fish looks as if it is pecking at the black gold fish and now it looks like my black gold fish is white. Exactly we're the white fish is sucking at. What's going on
