The texture and consistency make this an easy food to scoop out of the can. Both of my four year old hounds love it. Another positive is that it doesn't have that strong, icky canned-food odor. We mix it about half and half with dry lamb kibble and it disappears in roughly a minute.

Beware rice husks

My dog has been eating 1/3 can mixed with dried kibble in the mornings for a couple of months now. Recently he starting vomiting, first just foam/acid but it quickly turned into golf-ball sized "rocks". We dissected as best we could and most of it looked like his kibble but here were white particles too. We opened a new can of his wet food and strained it with water and a sieve and were surprised to see many pieces of rice husks remained. The husks were attaching to the kibble and binding it together preventing digestion. As much as he loved the flavor, having him vomit 3 of these rock balls, was 3 too many. I returned the remaining cans.

What is the fat content of this food?  I have a dog that needs to eat Lowe fat for.

    The Lamb and Rice canned will have 4% fat, and is not considered a low fat product.
