The Electric Blue Jack Dempsey Cichlid is a stunning variation of the classic Jack Dempsey Cichlid, characterized by its vibrant electric blue coloration. In addition to the striking blue and metallic iridescent scales, Electric Blue Jack Dempseys often have darker, almost black markings along the fins and around the eyes, creating a dramatic contrast that enhances their unique appearance. Growing up to 10 inches, it's a visually impressive and charismatic addition to any cichlid setup. Known for its territorial nature, the Jack Dempsey thrives in tanks of at least 70 gallons with ample rocks, caves, and hiding spots to establish territory. While they can coexist with other sturdy tankmates, careful planning is key to maintaining harmony. These cichlids enjoy a varied diet of high-quality pellets, frozen foods, and occasional live treats. Hardy and full of personality, the Jack Dempsey remains a favorite for aquarists seeking a colorful, active, and commanding centerpiece fish.

My pet pike cichlid is not eating and is always staying in one corner of the tank. It is in a 20 gallon with 2 convict cichlids, 2 firemouth cichlids, 1 Oscar, and two plecos. My ammonia is 0, nitrate 0 and ph is 6.5. Water is a little tinted because of the driftwood.
I have bought 2 parrot cichlids about 20 days ago. One of the parrot fish is constantly hiding behind the filter. Eating well but when it comes out to swim the other parrot fish keeps pinching it and doesn't allow to it to move around in the tank. I don't understand the problem. Please suggest what to do. Also the color of the fish is bit dull as compared to other one.
One of my parrot cichlid has developed black eye which I don't seem to understand as to what is it exactly. Eye is swollen and a bit out of its socket. Previously it was white but now changing to black color. Due to this fish is hiding continuously and other fishes are pinching it.
Hi, my name is Emma and I have a male half moon betta fish named pucker. I’ve had him for about three weeks now and just bought him a tank about a week ago. When I bought him from petsmart they ran out of betta food so they gave me this bug bites tropical fish and he ate it but didn’t like it. But I went back and bought him his food, which colour enhances. Today I went to go feed him and noticed his colour has changed, did it change in a good way? Also does he look healthy to you?
We just tranferred Joey from a 40 Gallon Tank to a new 90+ Gallon Terrain... He seemed to be pretty happy till today. We noticed right before we changed tanks that he had some dark coloration on his left side and tip of his tail.. He was shedding at the time so we figured it was part of it.. It has yet to go away, and today he seems VERY active, mostly attempting to climb the glass of the tank. I have attached a photo, Thank You in advance! ~Robert~
i also have a female cichlid that her color is faded she looks sick but is eating fine and swimming fine she is breathing a bit heavy the heat is at 85 not sure if the digitli heat is accurate or not
