Not great
I bought this water fountain 45 days ago and it's disappointing. Makes noise after drinking...even when the water is still elevated pretty much to the top...sounds like it's near empty. The pump gets gunky quick and filter doesn't seem to "filter"..just gets slimy.
Returning and finding another.
Had a 20 one from.amazon that lasted years and didn't give issues...just wanted something bigger- this is not the replacement I was looking for.

Good fountain, but cannot control flow.
Good basic fountain for getting fresh water to my cats. I like that there are minimal parts to clean (versus other fountains in the Drinkwell line). That said, the product description on this sites states "Control the rate of water flow," but that is not the case. There is no ability to adjust the water flow.

Would return but threw packaging away and just threw fountain in the trash. Does not pump the water at all. Easy to set up but total rubbish when plugged in.

Cat’s absolute favorite 😊
We’ve had this fountain for about 3 years and it’s amazing. I’m surprised by the negative reviews to be honest. We only recently needed to replace the pump, we have used it continuously since we bought it. We have other fountains but this is our cat’s favorite. I don’t recommend it for large dogs however. We have 2 German Shepherds and they are sloppy drinkers.

Works well for us
We've been using this fountain for going on 2 years now, with no real problems to speak of. We have 4 cats and 2 dogs using it. With that many critters drinking out of it we do have to top off once a day and need to take it apart and clean it about every 2 weeks, but that is to be expected with that many cats and dogs using it. We also take the motor fluid end apart when cleaning the fountain, as gunk and slime will build up in the rotor chamber if you don't and that will lead to poor and/or noisy pump action. I am fully satisfied with this fountain.

How big is this? There appears to be no size options but it shows a Doberman drinking from it and another picture of cat. They are obviously different size units and as I own three German Shepherd‘s would not want the cat size!
- Its a decent size. All 3 of your dogs would have a hard time drinking from it together. My 2 cats and a dog shared the fountain. It holds roughly 96 oz of water. It worked well for my needs. You may have to fill it a couple times a day, depending on their drinking habits. I filled once every morning and cleaned it 2 times weekly.

How do you refill it? I'm so tired of taking something apart to refill one.
- The two tanks on the back of the bowl lift out. No disassembly required, just pick up a tank and fill it at the sink then put the lid on and put it back on the back of the bowl. It has 2 tanks that are about a gallon each and the bowl holds a gallon. I have 3 dogs (including a very large one) and I fill the tanks about once a week.

Received my multi tier fountain today. I followed the directions for assembling and filling but it’s not moving any water. What have I missed??
- I've never had a problem with mine. Don't turn it on until you have filled both basins with water, then plug in and it should circulate water, but it doesn't run real fast, just enough.

Does this filter chlorine and other contaminants?
- Thank you for your great question. The carbon filters will filter bad smells and odors to keep the water tasting and smelling fresh for your pet which will encourage them to drink more frequently. The filters are not capable of filtering chlorine, fluoride or particulates.

Had mine now for over a year and the pump is almost dead. It flows but very slowly. My question and I bet most of you can figure it out already. Can the pump be replaced? If so how can I get a hold of a replacement?
- I would recommend running almost straight vinegar thru it for 24 hrs. The manufacturer will probably not like this idea, but I've had fountains last 5 yrs.

Can this be used outdoors continuously?
- No, it would become clogged and stop working due to all the outdoor particles and leaf litter. You may also cause it to short out as the plug is designed for indoor use.

Can you add water to this one without taking it apart until time to wash and change filter on? I have the 168oz one but it's high maintenance to have to take off the water carafe and refill it between cleanings..
- Yes, you just dump water right into it while it's running.
