1. What is the difference between prednisolone vs, dexamethasone? 2. Are they equally effective when used to treat feline intestinal lymphoma? 3. Why and when would the doctor choose one over the other? 4. What kind of response would we see in cats with small cell lymphoma if the drug is administered alone, that is, not used in conjunction with another chemotherapy drug such as chlorambucil? Is it safe to use Dexamethasone for an 8 month old pup to misscarry a litter?
My dog is a 3 year Maltese with 11 lbs. He was wearing a Scalibur necklace for flees, and by that developed a red rash around the neck. We removed it yesterday, but today he is itching, breathing more heavily than normal, and squiling. We called a vet and she told us to give him dexamethasone. We have 0.5mg human dexamethasone. We gave him 1 pill 0,5mg 5 hours ago, and 2 more half an hour ago. Total 1.5mg. Is that enough? Should we give more? When will the effect take place? Thanks!

Baby girl was given methylprednisolone for allergic dermititis 3 days ago which she was really irritated already because of the itching, well her doctor prescribed 2 4mg tablet 2 times a day which I gave her afterwards she has been just really mean to the other dog and trying to fight with him which she never did before. After I gave her the meds I was reading the dosages on other websites and on every one it says the maximum dos is 8 mg I think my vet is giving her too much .
Dex and Benadryl were administered before Dhpp and bordetella, reasons I do not know why. My question is, will the Dexamethasone inhibit an immune response for the Dhpp and bordetella?
My dog was given a shot of dexamethosone for sever arthritis and 5 days of prednisone. I am questioning if you can give prednisone in addition to Dexamethosone. I was told also to withhold Rimadyl until a day after stoppingprednisone for a washout period. From what I have been reading, there should be a longer washout period before starting back the Rimadyl. What is your opinion?
dexadreson - i would like to understand if this medicine is safe for a cat with grade 3 heart murmur / heart condition. It was given as an injection as a precaution to a cut so it wouldn't get infected. Is there a risk due to the heart condition? Thank you
