Nice glass, bended, better quality

I bought this tank when I upgraded from a 5 gallon Aquaeon. The glass is clear and quality of the tank is superb. It comes with a mat pre-affixed to the bottom of the tank for insulation and comes with great instructions and guidance for design. I reviewed the filter but did not find that it was suitable for my needs due to the low GPH. The lid is also curved and comes plastic hooks. The LED light is fantastic and a great deal as this alone costs $50-65 separately. Very modern design and efficient. The downside to this tank is that you have limited choices or quantity of fish. Its idea for plants and shrimp, however if you are going with barbs or territorial fish, you'll need to go bigger than this. The glass is a bit strange and I needed a local fish shop to cut the glass further in order to put an HOB on the back of the tank. Highly recommended for nano fish.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The Only Aquarium Kit Worth Buying

Jim Cook

I got this tank a year ago. The panoramic and rimless design make it so that, when you look at the tank, there is nothing to distract you from what's inside it. I have found this tank hard to find in US stores (it's German-made), but overall it's probably the only "all-in-one" tank kit I'll ever buy or recommend. It comes with everything you need except a heater and air stone/pump, but there are holes cut into the rear lid clips, so you can easily fit them in there. If you just wanted to have cold water species like White Clouds or shimps, this kit would have everything you techncially need. The light is strong enough for plants, but won't stimulate much algae growth if you manage water quality and keep it on for less than 9 hours/day. I grow lots of plants in mine witht the help of aquasoil. There is also a leveling mat glued to the bottom, which is convenient. There are a few downsides, which are easily avoided in my experience. I switched out the shrimp-safe internal filter for a sponge filter, but you might be able to get away without any airation system if you position the filter to outflow above the water line, creating bubbles. The glass can be sensitive to scratching, including (but rarely) from hard plastic and wood, but this shouldn't be an issue if you're mindful. Finally, there is a quarter-inch-ish gap between the rim and the lid in most spots, so I wouldn't keep small jumpers like clown killifish in here. I recently added a betta, and I haven't had any issues - she looks too big to fit through. We'll see, though.

Yes, I recommend this product.
