amazing improvement!!!

We have a 5 year old Pariah street dog adopted from a rescue in India. We know had a horrible start to his life in many ways, including health and nutrition. About 40 pounds, he was an energetic, always ready to play fellow until this past fall when we noticed a slowdown and stiffness when getting up. My son suggested we get a cosequin product so after research we decided to try Nutramax Dasuquin as it has ‘extras’ that are supposed to be great. Monsoon loves them! We are giving him one twice daily as treats and within the month we saw great improvement. His gait is looser, he gets up much easier and is more willing to get up and has farmless stiffness. I was absolutely amazed at the improvement and how quickly it has happened. Going to start our rescue chihuahua on them too!

Yes, I recommend this product.

My dog hates these! She will eat pretty much anything, but these she will not eat. She loved another brand that is no longer made so I decided to try these seeing they have great reviews. Unfortunately, she spits it out. She bit off a tiny piece but then spit it out. How disappointing! These are not cheap. Huge waste of money!!!

Although my pup willingly took the tablet the first few days, they did not agree with his stomach by the 5th day I tried half a tablet but it’s as if he knew this was the cause of his tummy upset and would no longer consume voluntarily. Unfortunately will be returning.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Can I give this to my 3 1/2 y/o shepherd

  1. You certainly can (and probably should)! I began this supplement on a <3 y/o who is now going on 6. I give to a 10+ y/o with arthritis. It definitely helps. I used glycoflex for 20+ years until vet recommended this, and I saw improvement starting after a month or so.

What is the weight of this bag?

  1. Comes in a bottle. I don't know about the bag.

What are the dimensions of the tablet? I find it quite big as it is described in Petco.

  1. It's very large. I use a pill cutter to cut it into small pieces to add to my dog's food. My husband just crushes it with the back of a spoon.

I've heard Dasaquin absorbs better than Cosequin, however have a dog that's had pancreatitis. Questioning if it has a higher fat content and therefore be contraindicated in his case and the Cosequin would be better for him?

  1. Hi, thanks for the great question. The ingredients of each product can be found under the Ingredients tab. You should consult with your veterinarian about which product is better for your pet, and ask the manufacturer of both products, Nutramax, for the technical information you need.
