Will this work on the brown diatoms that attach to the glass of aquarium?
- This is a UVC Filter, meaning that the UVC light has to make contact with particles suspended in the water column. If the “target” is not suspended within the water column where it can be passed through the pump systems for your tank’s filtration system(s), then it cannot affect your “target”. More directly: if your problem is attached to the glass or other substrate, no. It may prevent new issues from generating as any floating material that can be pushed through the sterilizer will be rendered inert (fracturing the DNA), however; it cannot affect anything not suspended in the water column.

I just purchased this unit what size pump should I purchase?
- Coralife Turbo Twist 6X; requires a powerhead or inline filtration system that can provide approximately 200 to 400 gph of flow rate. The lower the flow rate the better with UVC systems as it allows for longer “dwell times” for the floating particles you are trying to target (algae spores, parasites, viruses & bacteria).
