Prior to clipping, make sure your pet has been bathed, dried, and brushed to allow the clipper to glide smoothly through the coat. Place a few drops of lubricating oil on the teeth of the blade before clipping to help maintain the blade and keep it cool. TO REMOVE BLADE SET Hold the front part of the clipper with your thumb pressing on the blade and place another hand against the blade. When pressing the blade forward, the blade is detached. TO REPLACE BLADE SET, Set the taper control button to lowest position, #1. Place the blade onto the clipper body by inserting the blade tongue down below the lock tap. Snap the blade down into position. The blade is now fixed onto the clipper body.

I have been grooming my dogs for almost 40 years. I bought this clipper because it had a corded feature in the event the battery wears out. I have to say that this is the worst clipper that I have ever owned. It constantly clogged during use and I had to remove the comb after a couple of passes to remove the hair. The dog was bathed and hair was dry, but the clipper design resulted in hair clogging in the comb and preventing the ability to complete a quality hair grooming. I would not recommend this clipper.

We have a couple long haired cats and one of them have mats because he won't let anyone brush him. We've purchased SO MANY brushes, rakes, dematting brushes and none of them do anything and he won't sit still for it. He didn't enjoy being held down and shaved in the parts we did but it kind of worked to get the mats out. We still have a few areas to get but I am hopeful that it will do the job.
