Tangs are commonly referred to as surgeon fish due to having a sharp spine that looks like a "scalpel" at the base of their caudal (tail) fin that is used for protection, use caution when handling. They should not be kept with fish that look similar, like other tangs. However, they should be peaceful towards most other tank mates. Adult Clown Tangs are found in schools in shallow areas from the Indo-Pacific to the Great Barrier reef and New Caledonia. Juveniles are found solitary in shallow rubble areas. Lage Clown males will create and control feeding territories and harems of females. They will grow to be over a foot in size, so will need a great deal of swimming space. Full grown adults of this tang will need around 250 gallons; however, you can get away with smaller aquariums when they are juveniles. They body is littered with horizontal stripes of blue, black/grey and yellow/orange. Their fins are also lined with black and a vibrant blue coloration.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
If we need to contact you for any reason about your order, shipping of your package may be affected. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order summary. Orders are subject to verification of payment information by phone or email. We ship for arrival to the customer Tuesday through Friday and Saturday for an extra charge where available.

I have 2 salmenese tiger fish and two smaller fish in approximately 3.5 L bowl. I bought them on 1 April. 3 act normal but one act abnormal from first day. One salmenese tiger fish doesn't move much first it stayed at bottom now it's gapping at surface and if I try to catch to check it it goes down again. It's fins are turning red or I don't know if it already was. I don't understand how to help. Parents are out town so I can't go to shop. I am not sure if all are eating food.
My fish has a spot near the head that is missing scales and I'm not sure if it is because of an attack of because it is sick... the stomach seems to be sticking out a little and there is a little spot on the tail. Again I am not sure if this is because of an attack or not. Also, all of my fish have been more active and are constantly swimming in up and down motions or side to side like they are looking for something. I have had them for about three weeks.
Hi, I bought 6 platy fish and a black corydora catfish about 2 weeks ago, all seem in good health bright colours and swimming round as normal they are in a 48l tank which the pet store said was a big enough tank for them all, but one of them seems to be loosing his scales or I’m afraid he may have itch but it dosent look like it I hope you can help, thanks.
