Cerenia is given orally. For motion sickness, this medication can be given once a day for up to two days in a row. Dogs should not be fed 1 hour prior to giving Cerenia. Give Cerenia 2 hours prior to travel. Do not wrap the tablets tightly in fatty food such as cheese or meat, since this may keep the tablets from dissolving and delay the effect of Cerenia. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. If you have difficulty giving the medication, contact your veterinarian. This medication should only be given to the pet for whom it was prescribed.

I got clavamox drops to give to my dog and they gave me cerenia to help with nausea but I don’t understand the instructions it says (give 1/4 tab by mouth every 12 hours for nausea control until gone) there’s 4 tablets in the box does it mean give her one out of four or to give her oneforth of the one tablet
What is the medication cerenia used for? My dog just got prescribed it and I'm not 100℅ sure why.
My 14 yr old cat was in to see the vet this past weekend. We thought she had lost weight but in fact was normal as was his bloodwork. He was prescribed 2 tablets of Cerenia 16 mg for vomiting. 10 minutes after swallowing the wet pill he vomited. He has not eaten anything in the past 2 days. Water is being thrown up. His vet said he was in good health but we are concerned about his not eating even passed up his favorite, tuna. Any suggestions,?
Is it acceptable to administer Cerenia and Buprenorphine within the same day in a 17 year old cat with kidney deficiency? She also shows signs of vestibular disease and the Cerenia really helps her. Use of the Buprenorphine is quite rare, but we use it as needed for pain. ie...sometimes she moans and groans after eating canned food like fish flavored Weruva--thus, the Buprenorphine.
My cat has IBD. He has flares and has just begun a new one. I gave him his normal doses of prednisoline, omeprazole, metronidazole, and added a half a Cerenia. He threw up shortly thereafter. I could identify the pred. and the omeprazole but could not see the Cerenia or flagyl. I am wondering.. would it be safe to give the injectable Cerenia I have on hand for emergencies while not knowing what if any he absorbed...and then remedicate w the others later when it has taken affect? Dog was prescribed Novox 25mg once a day for limping.This was on 1/9. On 1/12, work up & needed to go outside, where he was eating grass, bamboo, & other green plants to make himself vomit. Took him to the vet, who gave him a shot of Cerenia, & since diarrhea, one Flagyl 250 mg. Since then, about 9:00am, won't touch food & haven't seen him drink. Seems uncomfortable & if let out tries to eat grass.
Hi I've got Cetrizine hydrochloride 10mg tablets for my 9.6kg pug for seasonal allergies. I've been told to give a 10mg tablet 3 times a day but it seems that other sources say 20mg is the max amount to be given. What is correct ?!
Hi there! I’d like to know about deworming schedule for a 4 year old dog weighing around 20 kg. I’ve been giving him locally available Drontal Plus drug..2 tablets in a single dose (1 tab per 10kg body weight) every 4 months. Is a single doze fine or do I need to give a gap of 10 days in b/w 2 tablets?
My dog was prescribed Cerenia after a diagnosis of pancreatitis. I didn't give it to her right away because 36 hours after the eposide she was eating and drinking small amounts of food and water. I noticed she was smacking her lips a sign of nausea so I gave her one. She first acted more lethargic. She isn't back to normal after the attack. Now she won't eat. She will drink water. Do you think she'll start eating again once the drug has left her system in 24 hours?
There's a stray dog near my house. She got hit by a bike and left with a deep wound. I consulted vet and he prescribed cefpet 100 mg once in a day along with metaflam and gotbac powder to sprinkle on her wound. It's been 4days but there's not much improvement. She's eating well. Would you recommend any change in the dosage of the prescribed medicines. I also have cefpet 200 mg and meriquin 150mg in stock. She's between 12-16 kgs.
Hi trixie is going thru treatment for small cell lymphoma and gets a Leukeran every 2 weeks. My question is regarding Cerenia for nausea. My oncologist has said to give it to her the day b4 her Leukeran and the next few days following. If she gets her Leukeran at 930 tomorrow morning is there a time today that is best to administer the Cerenia ?... I was planning on this evening. Just wondering if the time makes any difference? F,7 yo,neutered,16.6 kg,has DCM & spondylosis, previously diagnosed with Lymphoma, had chemo & Metyl-prednisolone. Symptoms:fever,bloody diarrhea,moderate anemia,muscle atrophy,reactive submandibular nodes,inflammation on the muzzle;dehydrated,anorexic,poor appetite.Tested negative for HepatozoonCanis,Toxoplasma,Babesia,Helicobacter;histopathological exam of node aspirate and blood smear also negative for neoplasm.Currently on Metronidazole 250mg x 2/day & IVs.
